God of War looks absolutely incredible on PlayStation 4 -- that much we've known for some time. But what we didn't know is that the upcoming action title may well feature a photo mode, allowing you to pause the action and take some striking snaps of Kratos' latest adventure. We can't wait to zoom right in on that big old beard.
Now, we say "may" because it's not quite confirmed just yet. Director Cory Barlog told the Daily Star that a photo mode is "something that we’re definitely looking at", explaining that it would "have to be something really cool" before it's made official. Further comments from Barlog suggest that the mode would probably arrive post-launch.
Would you be tempted to fill up your hard drive with God of War pics? Keep those fingers crossed in the comments section below.

From what we've seen of this game so far, I think a photo mode would be a fantastic addition.
Shame it won't be ready at launch to be honest. Obviously the game is the most important part, but these modes are like free marketing in games as pretty as God of War.
After the previews mentioned that it's the most impressive game on PS4, I can't imagine how beautiful God of War is, especially after games like Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn and Ratchet & Clank.
@get2sammyb They could probably borrow Guerrilla Games / Horizon Zero Dawn's photo mode software. From what I understand, that game is the bee's knees when it comes to it's photo mode.
!!! Photo Mode !!!
All sony first party games should have photo mode as default, it's a waste not to include it.
wondering when Sony gonna announce news about this game has gone gold yet
As long as I can take screenshots in-game I'm happy. Photo mode is just a bonus.
PS5 should include a built in photo mode. That would be nice.
I desperately want a photo mode. I also really want a 3D audio mode built for the Platinum headset. Last time we got one of those was Horizon.
Ehhh i don't use Photo Mode. it doesn't interest me very much because i never use Photo mode on games i played
I don't tend to use them a great deal but it's almost becoming an essential that games of this budget include one.
When I finished Shadow of the Colossus last week, I spent my last half hour in the game in photo mode because I wanted to say goodbye to the world and was addicted to trying to manipulate the camera just right for that perfect picture.
Of course it will.this game is the best looking game on any platform.word to the motha.word up son
That's what I want to hear Photo mode has become my favourite feature this gen
@Turismo4GT Horizons PM is the best I've used so far
@sajoey Agreed, it's crazy how sparsely Sony and 3rd party publishers support this feature in the Platinum headset.
I love photo mode in games. I like to post pictures and videos from what I'm playing on my Instagram (I know my Facebook friends won't care). Also I just like being able to look back at the screenshots that I captured during my journey through a game.
@RedMan33 Yeah, HZD's photo mode may be the best across all platforms, not just PlayStation.
@Turismo4GT on PlayStation for sure, can say for other machines though
@Turismo4GT it's ridiculous. I still love the headset, but it needs more support
It's a must for god of war to have photo mode, I think fans will take epic screens 🤞
