Koei Tecmo's revealed Toukiden 2's opening CG movie, and it's pretty much exactly what you'd expect. A non-specific main character teams up with the sequel's refreshed cast and they hack a giant Oni to bits in stylish fashion. Hey, at least the video's being true to the game.
Still, it's worth a watch if you're looking to inject a little hype for Omega Force's upcoming slay-'em-up. The title's due out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita in Japan very soon - on the 28th July, to be precise - but there's no word on a Western release just yet. Once the game's out in the East, however, we reckon that it won't be too long until we hear something.

Hopefully the NA release isn't too far off.. but hopefully it's far enough to give me time to finish God Eater.. and God Eater 2.. and FFXV....
I like the character design for Benizuki.
Plus, I wonder if that Oni's attack skill on 1:19 will really be in the game.
If this looks interesting, do yourself a favour and set up a Japanese PSN account and play the demo.
In my experience while the mechanics are solid and it looks nice, it plays like a cheap free-to-play MMO encountering the same enemies over-and-over, quests with no depth...
I honestly think Kiwami is the better buy. Sure, it doesn't have an 'open world' but in this case that just means "a big map into which the quests spawn baddies". It's not dynamic in any way.
There are low-level trash mobs around, and anything worth hunting is spawned by quests which are basically "kill this because reasons".
The fixed maps with loading screens are at least honest about this and you don't have to backtrack when you finish.
This is a bold experiment that failed.
Maybe they wanted to make an MMO and it didn't work out...
