It's taken quite a while, but Fallout 4's first PlayStation 4 patch is here. As with Bethesda's previous game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the developer released the update on PC first, where users could beta test it before providing feedback.
Weighing in at just over 500MB, the patch admittedly doesn't seem to be packing any big changes - which, we suppose, could be considered a good thing. You can find the full list of alterations below.
Fallout 4 PS4 1.2 Patch Notes
- General memory and stability improvements
- Performance improvements inside the Corvega Assembly Plant
- Optimizations to skinned decal rendering
- Fix issue with player becoming stuck in terminals
- Fixed issue where equipped weapons become locked after completing Reunions
- Fixed issue with "When Freedom Calls" where the quest would not complete
- During "Confidence Man" fixed issue where player's health would continuously regenerate
- Fixed crash related to jumping into water and reloading saved games

Hopefully in future patches they will address the frame rate in Boston. It be be like a slideshow at times. However I've no other complaints. Game runs well all things considered.
As much as I appreciate an update, I can't help but think that they could have fixed a lot more bugs than this in the time since launch.
I mean its fun to shoot someone in the leg with a rifle and watch them fly hundreds of feet in the air, but there are many more less funny bugs...
They need to fix the damn Cambridge Police Station. I have to go there to turn in Quartermastery and Cleansing The Commonwealth quests, and every time I try to enter I either a) fall through the map, thus breaking the game and having to restart it, or b) the frame rate is literally a slideshow and it doesn't completely render everything either.
yay no more getting stuck in terminals!
Well I had a few terminal glitches so nice to see them acknowledging them. Sometimes I got stuck halfway into the animation for using one and had to reload. There's another terminal in Goodneighbour that won't let you use it at all. You start to slide into place and just stay there forever.
@thedevilsjester
Yeah, there are funny ones like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bZZiFA92d8
But some are just confusing as hell like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nFS1janf3Y
Still, in TW3 I had more glitches than in previous Bethesda games combined from Morrowind to Fallout 4, I've played them all, so that's really saying something.
I've only had one QTD when entering VATS, and my only other problem is ridiculous respawning after very short amounts of time spent both in the same cell and after changing cells. Idk if it's on purpose, but it doesn't seem like it.
It still needs more patching imo, still i guess this will help a bit -running okay overall anyway for a Bethedsa.
@charlesnarles I think it's on purpose. It was easy to break a lot of the dynamic quests in Skyrim because enemies that you had to kill wouldn't respawn fast enough if you'd killed them at an earlier date. At least with Fallout 4's spawn times, that's not as likely to happen.
I've put in close to 200 hours now, the only thing that's got my goat is I can't access Bobbi's terminal in goodneighbour, its a known? bug so hopefully its fixed.
