For a game that's coming out in just over two weeks, it's, er, mad that we haven't seen more of Mad Max. We've had a few trailers here and there, but we've always been expecting more of the open world post-apocalyptic carnage simulator.
Fortunately, Avalanche Studios hosted a lengthy livestream of the release that's now up on YouTube. The footage lasts over 80 minutes in total, and overall, it looks pretty good. Sure, it's absolutely packed with sandbox fluff, and it typically sports everything from light role-playing game mechanics like skill trees to car customisation, but we're liking the eerie emptiness of the wasteland itself.
What do you make of it? Will Mad Max be getting any of your attention with so many other big releases hitting store shelves in the near future? Struggle through the desert in order to find the beautiful oasis otherwise known as the comments section below.

Could be fun, can't quite shake off the Farcry vibe for me somehow which is a shame but I'll wait for reviews.
Please don't let it be like Ubisoft open-world games...
Don't forget that this is made by the Just Cause devs so even for a massive world it will be filled with stuff to do, I'll defo be getting this and mgs:P
Hope this is good
As expected there is a heavy Just Cause influence but a surprising Far Cry influence as well. Just Cause and Far Cry share the same basic theme, where you're a revolutionary causing mayhem like a terrorist to gradually bring down a country by capturing key installations.
It's a versatile structure that always works well if done right and Mad Max is using a similar theme but probably battling against rival gangs rather than a government dictator. It's borrowing from the best so all is good there, but what does it bring to the table to make it individual.
As far as I can see it's naff fisty punchy stuff that looks extremely tedious with awful animation. Uncharted is the master of smooth fluid melee and how to blend it seamlessly with gunplay. I'm a little underwhelmed. I hope Just Cause 3 is the real deal.
This game looks like Just Cause with a survival element, so I'm happy
Wow, looks surprisingly fun actually
Definitely going to purchase this, but not at full price. I will wait awhile after its' release to pick it up. Too many good games in a short period of time.
