Uncharted 4: A Thief's End PlayStation 4 PS4

Let's not beat around the bush: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is the big one. Sony may have an impressive stable of first-party studios, but Naughty Dog has grown into a world-beater over the past decade or so – and thus, the Californian firm's forthcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive will be placed under enormous scrutiny when it eventually releases.

But while it was initially due out this holiday, it was delayed earlier in the year in order to give the studio a little more time to achieve its aims. And now the Japanese giant is telling investors to expect it before the company's 2015 fiscal year comes to a close, which means that it's due out at some point prior to 31st March, 2016.

Sony's no stranger to occupying that early part of the calendar, of course, as it deployed The Order: 1886, Bloodborne, and MLB 15 The Show all prior to the end of March this year. Should Nathan Drake's latest end up occupying that slot in 2016, it's hard to imagine any other title being big enough to compete with it. In that sense, the sequel will likely own the first half of the year.
