"Whoops"

Skateboarding star Tony Hawk is getting ready to ride again, as there’s a new entry in Activision’s legendary extreme sports series in production. Oblivious to any non-disclosure agreements, the Birdman told a local North American radio station that he’s performing motion capture for the upcoming title, and that it’s “pretty cool”.

The publisher – who’s been making games based on the pro skater since the late 90s – later confirmed the news in a statement to IGN, stressing that “more information is coming soon”. It’s unclear who’s working on the title, but Illinois-based outfit Robomodo has been at the helm of all of the most recent entries, and doesn’t appear to be working on anything else at the minute.

The last title to bear the ageing superstar’s moniker was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, which re-purposed many of the old levels from the franchise.

Do you wish that whoever’s making this fresh instalment would pull out its gold finger and give us a glimpse now, or are you convinced that the release is going to slam? Kickflip in the comments section below.
