Nah, you kick it with your feet

We’re not willing to risk losing an enormous chunk of our readership by saying derogatory things about American Football, so instead we’ll get straight to the point: EA’s hastily published NFL Blitz has done alright for itself in 2012’s inaugural PSN best-sellers list, beating out fellow arcade sports rival, erm, NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, to top the downloadable charts for January.

All said January wasn’t an especially hot month for new releases, with faithful favourites inFamous: Festival of Blood and Sonic CD both holding onto top-five positions.

AMY was perhaps the most notable new release of the month, finishing up in a respectable ninth – a miracle considering its scathing reviews.

Elsewhere, on the PSone Classics chart, Final Fantasy VII reclaimed its all-too-obvious place at the top of the charts, while Corpse Party continued its domination of the PSP digital best-sellers list. We wonder if the quirky visual novel will get brushed aside once the Vita launches properly next week.
