Sony insists that there's no evidence of widespread PlayStation Vita glitches.

Speaking with The Guardian, SCE UK's head of public relations David Wilson said, "We're annoyed with these stories, because we can't find any evidence of widespread glitches."

He continued that, contrary to other reports, there has been no apology from Sony issued on the subject: "The stories even said that Sony has issued an apology for PS Vita glitches, which simply isn't true – there's an apology on our Japanese website for people who are having trouble getting through to our technical help line, but that's it." The page with the apology also links directly to a list of troubleshooting measures in case of a freeze.

Even if the issues aren't widespread, Sony can't really blame the media for jumping to conclusions. After all, the inclusion of troubleshooting measures and an overwhelmed tech support unit kind of indicate the contrary. Hopefully any minor software niggles are ironed out before the system's Western launch in February.
