Final Fantasy Type-0 Is Nearly Finished. Imagine.

Director Hajime Tabata said on the game's development blog that the final tasks involved tuning and debugging the game.

Final Fantasy Type-0 has been in development for a whopping three-and-a-half years. But Tabata defended the game's development, stating that about a year of the team's time was taken up by creating Parasite Eve spin-off The 3rd Birthday. Tabata added that gamers shouldn't worry about the development process, as the time has been used to fill the game with an extraordinary amount of content.

Tabata's not exaggerating either — Final Fantasy Type-0 will ship on two UMDs when it launches in Japan later in the year. It'll be the first PSP title to do so. A downloadable version of the game has yet to be announced, but is being "considered" by Square Enix.
