Gran Turismo 5 May Well Be The Best Racing Game Ever Made. We Don't Believe The Press Will Care.

Why? Because people are impatient. Look, we agree as much as everyone, Gran Turismo 5's development time has been a bit of a joke (we still think it'll definitely drop sometime in September this year) - but comments made by Garnett Lee on said podcast made us realise what an uphill struggle it's going to have.

The general line of commenting went as such: "It's been in development forever it's not going to be very good." It just kind of seems contradictory to us though - no one knows even half of GT5's final feature-set, so comparisons to Forza 3 are extremely premature at this stage. Let's be honest, though: Gran Turismo 5 is destined for a slew of 7's when it hits stores simply because the press seem unable to accept that the game had a long (LONG) development schedule.

And to be honest series Godfather Kazunori Yamauchi does not help. Once again he's come out to the press and stated that the game is only 90% finished. Cue jokes, laughing, chortling, fun-poking and general snark.

Good luck Gran Turismo 5 when you do release. You're going to be held on a podium so high that you don't even stand a chance. We, of course, will review the game for what it is. Don't count on other publications being so forgiving. 'Tis the state of the industry.
