A stealthy announcement discovered in the latest Sony press release (via the Examiner) hints that Sony are to introduce fully featured 3D gaming to the Playstation 3 by 2011
The press release, which details Sony's 3D plans, hints at "3D gaming on PlayStation 3 in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011."
It seems like the industry, and entertainment giants like Sony, are preparing themselves for 3D technology in the home in a big way. The buzz is that 3D is finally to become a standard. Whether it will actually take off, we're not so sure.
Sony have shown off Wipeout HD and Gran Turismo 5 in 3D over the last year.
