Review Saints Row IV (PlayStation 3)
The boys are back in town
At one point in Saints Row IV, your character, the Boss, tells series veteran Shaundi that it’s been “one helluva ride”, perhaps inadvertently summarising developer Volition’s latest title. What started out as little more than a franchise looking to piggyback on the success of Grand Theft Auto has travelled an awful...

News Saints Row IV and All of Its DLC Gets Re-Elected on PS4 Next Year
We should have known
We were busy typing away about the rather surprising reveal of Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, when suddenly, developer Volition decided to throw a slightly less shocking announcement our way. That's right, the PlayStation 4 is getting another last-gen port, and this time, it's the wacky Saints Row IV, which now comes with the...
News Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell is Coming to PS4, and It's, Er, a Standalone Expansion Pack
Gone when the morning comes
Well, we didn't see that one coming. As you've no doubt heard, publisher Deep Silver released a Saints Row teaser image over Twitter earlier today, and with developer Volition hosting a panel at this year's PAX convention this evening, it seemed all but assured that the crazy sandbox franchise would be making an...
Who Would Win Wednesdays Duke Nukem vs. Johnny Gat
Round 16
This week's Who Would Win Wednesdays is yet another testosterone fuelled crossover, but realistically, it's hard to deviate from this formula when just about every personality in gaming marches around with a gun and swears at people. Nevertheless, we must soldier on after last week's clash saw a surprising turn of events. We would have bet...
News Save Santa from the Simulation in Seasonal Saints Row IV DLC
Yule like this one
North American developer Volition’s silly sandbox excursion Saints Row IV is set to refresh this winter with a spot of seasonal cheer. Fans of the open world adventure will be able to rip open a new add-on from 11th December, which will detail the Saints’ attempts to save Santa Claus from a Matrix-esque simulation. Judging by...
DLC Review Jerking Around in Saints Row IV: Enter The Dominatrix
Strap off
Since Saints Row: The Third, Volition's franchise has built itself up as the stupidest open world game available, constantly breaking the fourth wall, jamming popular culture references into just about every line of dialogue, and generally just being very, very self aware. Saints Row IV's first mission-based DLC comes in the form of Enter...
News Saints Row IV Skulks into the Dominatrix on 23rd October
Computational chaos
Saints Row IV’s previously announced ‘Enter the Dominatrix’ expansion pack will deploy on digital store aisles prompter than you can chug a can of Saints Flow. In a press release hand delivered to Push Square towers by Johnny Gat himself, publisher Deep Silver has confirmed that the content will tickle your sides from 23rd...
News UK Sales Charts: Saints Row IV Enjoys the Calm Before the Storm
Cloud cover
Volition’s agreeable sandbox romp Saints Row IV has managed a fourth consecutive week at the top of the UK sales charts – but we’ve got a feeling that it won’t be staying there for much longer. This week’s best sellers list is peppered with heavy hitters – including Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX in second, Diablo III in third, and
Weirdness Saints Row IV Conveniently Cashes GATV Add-On Next Week
Smooth move
Considering that the Saints Row series started life as a cheap Grand Theft Auto knock-off, it’s amazing how much the franchises have diverged. While the previous instalment in Rockstar’s sandbox series adopted a more realistic guise, Volition Software’s own property has backflipped off the side of a cliff wearing a tutu. Still,...
News UK Sales Charts: Saints Row IV Still Current Incumbent, Lost Planet 3 Burrows Deep
Killer Is Dead fails to entice the general public
Two of last week’s big new releases did not inject much enthusiasm into the UK sales charts. Lost Planet 3 got off to a dismal start, digging itself into 26th position. Meanwhile, the latest title from Grasshopper Manufacture mustered an even more disappointing debut, with Killer Is Dead loosening...
News UK Sales Charts: Saints Row IV Takes the Seat at the Summit
Inauguration station
Saints Row IV has been sworn in at the top of the UK sales charts, fending off strong competition from Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Ubisoft’s sneak-‘em-up settled its night vision goggles on second place, while pricey toy platform Disney Infinity finished in third. Isn’t it nice to be able to talk about some new games for a...
About The Game
Save the world, Saints Style
In the next open-world installment of Saints Row, Volition continues the story of the Third Street Saints by elevating their status to the highest level – the leaders of the free world. In Saints Row IV, the head honcho of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States. But the Saints are just getting started. Now the larger-than-life insanity of the Saints series gets a new twist with a catastrophic alien invasion, and the aliens have transported the Saints to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity from alien granddaddy Zinyak’s mental grasp. Escape the simulation that’s trapped the Saints crew, or die trying.
Saints Row IV lets players delve into an arsenal of alien weaponry and technology that will turn each Saint into an ultimate entity of destruction. Utilize out-of-this-world superpowers to fight all the way to the top. With intensified action and enhanced customization, players can use their newfound superpowers and leap over buildings, outrun the fastest sports cars, or send enemies flying with telekinesis in the greatest, most insane installment of Saints Row yet.
