@RogerRoger Excellent quiz! I did all right again, I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

I’m chuffed considering I ballsed up loads of questions. Somehow I’m more pleased that I knew the name of that specific Christmas carol than any of the actual gaming questions. It’s like when you get one question right on University Challenge, you feel like a right brainbox.

Considering I basically knew nothing in this quiz bar Angela Lansbury, that tagline for Daxter & the Tekken one I'm rather pleased with my result and joint 5th with Gremio.

Well done Wanderingbullet on the win and good to see you back!

& a very well done quiz RogerRoger!

@RogerRoger cheers for the quiz, I shoulda known Arkham origins as I only played it last year/year before! Also shoulda known mgs iv dammit! Great quiz, thanks again!

On a side note I really liked the rock/dubstep combo music from MGR:R, fudge knows why, that sort of thing isn't normally my cup of tea

@RogerRoger Wow, I am surprised with how many lucky guesses that I got right. ^^;

Anyways, I don’t think I can create the quiz but I’ll try take part in them whenever I can. Sorry.

Thanks to everybody for the praise. I do feel bad that it turned out to be slightly more difficult than I'd anticipated, so will keep that in mind for next time.

@Ralizah Hey, I'm just glad that you folks know me well enough to recognise my sincerity!

@ralphdibny The boss tracks from Metal Gear Rising are an exception to my usual preferences, too. The rest of the score is pretty standard orchestral-techno but I dunno, there's just something about the vocal tracks which hits home. Maybe I've just replayed the game too much!

@WanderingBullet No worries; there's never any pressure! Congratulations again!

@RogerRoger might be the lyrics about fighting against subjugation, mind control and oppression set against the type of music that was totally rad back in 2013

I think I have an idea for a quiz...maybe I could have a go if there are no objections, will be my first time so I apologize in advance if it's a load of tosh...

@ralphdibny Sounds great; especially since you've never done one before, I reckon you're up! Thanks!

Well, I watched about 15 minutes of it anyway. To be honest I forgot the name of it. Then when I was on YouTube earlier, putting on some music, it randomly popped up in my recommended, and I went, "Ah yes, that's what it's called!"
Bizzare.

Happy to see this is still going strong! Seems like I'm joining in for a very fun quiz at that. Let's give it a go!

Round 1

My knowledge for many older games, let alone what they look like, is frankly near non-existent, haha. I'm afraid I'll do terribly here but I'll give it a shot.

1. Looks like a Street Fighter game. Let's say 2?

2. I have absolutely no clue, but I am highly intrigued by this bulldog seemingly being mixed race and using digitised sprites.

3. I'm sure this is a very stressful game, and the fact that I can't think of anything that fits is equally stressful.

4. Bad Mark and Big Mike.. I honestly thought that guy on the left was some superhero of sorts. Is it the retro precursor to Injustice starring D-tier DC protagonists and villains?

5. I'm glad to see that even with digitised sprites they managed to make their female characters overly sexualised. What it could be, though? I have no idea.

6. This is a basketball game, and if my memory of American sports serves me correctly, that's the NBA? Must be NBA 1k93.

7. I immediately imagined this as Jeff Probst on his travel montage from the Final Tribal Council to the reunion in Survivor, and I can't unsee it. This is the highly popular Indiana Probst and the Million Dollar Votes.

8. Considering the stromtrooper, this is clearly some sort of Star Wars game. There have been at least 783 of them however and I have no clue which of them this is. Possibly Star Wars: Orange is the New White?

9. How many fighting games were there in the 90s? Looks dark and possibly violent though, so I'll go with the good ol' Mortal Kombat. I better not have gotten SF and MK switched around if at all possible.

Round 2

Well, that went incredibly. I can only go up from here.

1. Ha! I know that! That is Rayman! Guess this win will be mine after all.

2. That is clearly a Sonic character, and one with a tail at that. I'll go with the most obvious one (a.k.a. Tails) but it honestly could be any of them with tails. Are there more with tails?

3. This one has been in lockdown for too long and desperately needs to see a hairdresser. For some reason the first character to jump to mind was Nemesis from RE3, since it looks scary. I don't think he has hair though, but maybe he grew it out?

4. Oh damn, that's one of the thousands of Pokemon. Good thing my little brother is entirely obsessed with Pokemon Go and has taught me quite a few of these names. I'll go with Gyarados, since I believe that one is somewhat snake like.

5. I have this image in my mind of these weird silhouette people with hats, but I can't for the life of me remember where I saw them. I feel like it was in a Nintendo game, but that character does not look very Nintendo (a.k.a. not adequately sized). Wait! Is it that Metal Gear Solid dude? Mantis? Does he wear a hat? I played that game but I genuinely cannot remember. I suppose it's a better guess than Bowsette, so I'll go with it.

Round 3

I'm glad I can confidently come into this third round with at least one guaranteed point. If you somehow take Rayman from me though, I'm screwed.

1. I feel like I should know who this is, but I'm really not quite sure. This seems like the most likely one to be from the Mortal Kombat movie though, and I don't see how you wouldn't include that! So yes, Mortal Kombat the movie... the first one?

2. This photo gives me quite literally nothing to work with. Too many games have these big weapons and muscular men as their stars. I can't even begin to guess.

3. Wait... Jake Gyllenhaal was in a video game movie? That is him, right? If only I could remember what the hell it is, but I seem to be viciously blanking. It'll probably be very obvious in hindsight, but why not go with a Uwe Boll movie? In the Name of the King? Was that Jake Gyllenhaal?

4. It's terrifying, but absolutely Super Mario Bros. I still don't know how they let that be the design for what I assume is supposed to be... Yoshi?

5. Huh? I didn't expect a white Donkey Kong to be given me the finger today, but I'm not complaining. Looks super recent, but I can't think of anything. Ugh.

6. Hitman! Hitman 47! Just Hitman? Whatever the one with Timothy Olyphant is. The one he did just so he could buy a new house and for absolutely no other reason. Even I can't screw up such an iconic pose and character.

7. Warcraft! I'm on a roll here. That CGI still looks surprisingly good since it wasn't exactly blockbuster budget and like... 4 years ago now? Never turned into the franchise they clearly wanted it to be, though.

8. Tomb Raider! The one starring Alicia Vikander! I think we should just stick to these movie questions since they're clearly the only ones I'm even slightly competent at. Not surprising when I really spend more time in the movie/TV sphere than gaming generally, I suppose!

9. Mark Wahlberg was in a video game movie? I'm learning all sorts here today. I'm not quite sure what this is. It's clearly a shooter I would never be interested in, but I'm confused by Mila Kunis in the background. She did something? I have no clue.

10. Ah! Aaron Paul. Not a fan of his, but I'm glad that him being in a Need for Speed movie is still for some reason staying in my brain after six years. I can't learn anything new that's useful, but there's enough space for that to remain in there. He's good for something for once, I guess!

11. Dwayne Johnson? Are we really sure all these people starred in video game adaptations? You'd normally thing it was C-list stars at best whose careers never took off. Maybe video game adaptations really are a rite of passage to becoming a big star.

Round 4

Sure snagged a few points there! I'm sure I'm still in the lead for last place, but maybe the gap has tightened a little now.

1. That immediately struck me as Sculder and Mully (I realise now after typing its Scully and Mulder, but I'm too embarrassed to change it), despite me never having seen The X-Files. I'm not aware of any X-Files game, but it's my best guess here really.

2. James Bond! One of the Daniel Craig ones! Looks a bit on the older side so... Casino Royale the video game?

3. A baseball fighting game? The only baseball movie or TV show I can think of is A League of Their Own (and Brockmire which is a great show!), but that was women. I'll go with it. I have nothing better.

4. Superman! One of those games! Not Superman 64, definitely something more recent. Unfortunately I'm not aware of anything more recent. Uh... Superman Returns?

5. Well, that has to be a Fast and Furious game. I have no idea any of those existed though and can't even begin to imagine what they're called. Faster and More Furious.

6. This seems like it's probably a far cry from what the movie is actually like, and that means I've got nothing.

7. Are we sure this isn't Dwayne Johnson again? Is this some Scorpion King game adaptation? Yes? Maybe?

8. Seems like Earth is probably being attacked by giant dragon monsters. I sure haven't got a movie fitting that description though, huh...

9. Now this is what we're talking about. Toy Story the video game... or maybe Toy Story 2 the video game. I'll go with whatever the first Toy Story game for the first movie is called. Maybe just Toy Story? (The Game?)

10. This just strikes me as Tomb Raider, which it obviously can't be but was trying to be. Unless! You're pulling a fast one on me and this is actually a game tie in into the Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider movies which in turn technically makes it a movie turned video game. It's probably not that big of a conspiracy but whatever. Let's go with the flow.

Whew. It's done. In any good way? Probably not, but finished it is! Afraid I can't give many specifics and that can even take away the few points that I clearly maybe might not have, but I've given it my best and I hope to at least get five whole points. Surely not too much to ask for!

EDIT: I do apologise for the wall of text... I can get occasionally too talkative for my own good!
