Topic: PSA- GAME (UK) Rewards points return to 0 after 12 months

Thought more people should be aware of this, especially due to stores being closed during the pandemic.

Long story short…My PS4Pro is at my parents place in the Midlands. My regular PS4 is with me in London.
Visited my folks for a week only to find my controller being busted. Fine I’ve got plenty of GAME rewards points through purchases & trade ins saving up for that elusive PS5 once it shows up.

So over 6 years I amassed £170+ worth of credit.
Log into the app only to find that my rewards points were reset to 1 point, which equates to the grand total of £0.

Checked the terms & condition & back in 2015 they added a clause that required a purchase to be made within 18 months using your account.
In 2016 this was changed to 12 months.
Let’s all remember that the stores were closed.

Now I like my GAME store they’re good people & I don’t mind paying a bit more as long as I feel like it’s still good value. This really ticked me off.

The manager via phone said that there’s nothing he can do & I should:

’try the web chat or submit a ticket, because there’s no customer service number’

Try the web chat. Doesn’t work.
So I submit a ticket.

Luckily that went through & after a few back & forths, whoever in charge checked my details & was able to reimburse me the full amount (£172).

Long story short.
If you use GAME check your ‘wallet’. If it has been reset to 0, write a scathing email (once the ticket has been submitted).

Rant over.
I’m sure this has happened to a lot of other people with stores being closed.
What a crappy policy to have.

@Fight_Teza_Fight Good to know, thank you! Am glad you were able to get that substantial amount of credit back; definitely worth fighting for!

@Fight_Teza_Fight This is good to know as I've bought my last 3 consoles from Game, but from the online store. I hardly went into a store even before the pandemic and only ever used to go in there to browse video games if I was bored in my lunch time.

It's a crazy policy to have. I don't think GAME are in a position to be loosing customers.
I usually pick up on sale items, hardware or on the rare occasion a collectors edition.

@JohnnyShoulder You can 'abuse' the system in a way to make substantial savings. I saved almost £30 on my day one PSVR unit, through game elite & voucher codes.

Honestly I was in complete disbelief, going on the GAME app and seeing that amount of money drop to 0 once the app finished refreshing.
At least they reimbursed me. They could've just terms and conditioned me.

@Fight_Teza_Fight I probably don't use them often enough to get enough savings. I just checked and I have £4.50 wallet balance. I find it all a bit of a con tbh. It feels you either have to exclusively shop at Game or pony up for Elite, which I will do neither.

I just had a look after buying my console through them and then the Pulse headset and Returnal.

I’m currently sitting on a grand total of £6.60 in rewards.
