Topic: PS5 Tempest Audio, the Sony 3D pulse vs SteelSeries Arctis 7P, which 1 to choose and why?

Hello guys, was lucky enough to secure a Fat Boy PS5 at launch, happy days! Was thinking about going the whole hog and getting some Sony 3D Pulse to really make it worth my while. Did a short scroll on the Web and have noticed that SteelSeries Artics 7P appears to be the better headset, supports the new Tempest audio technology but is about £50-£60 more. However with black Friday / cyber Monday around the corner, suspect the offers may mean the prices are compatible.

So here are my questions
1. Which headset would you choose, and indeed if not these two, which one would you choose?

2. Can the SteelSeries Artic 7P use the Tempest to its full advantage?

3. Can the SteelSeries be used with the Sony VR, just like the 3D Pulse, or will it not fit snuggly

I have the artics pro and would say that having the headset on and PSVR is not a great combination. Headphones are great but there is too much going on with the head having the headphones and PSVR at once.I feel the same about any decent headphones using them with PSVR always ended up using small in ear heaphones.

@blacklivesmatter thanks for the reply, that is great info. To be fair, I actually hardly ever play vr which is strange because I thought I would love it. But the point you make is a good 1, with all that weight on your head, the small in ear are the better option. Also, with all the VR wires everywhere, the value of having a wireless headset goes out the window

@StevieJ_UK1 thanks for the reply bud. Great to hear someone was in the same position as me and went with the Artic and that they are good. I think I am going to go down the same road. Apparently the 7x is compatible with the Xbox as well as the PS5 but the 7P is not compatible with the Xbox, not that it makes a difference to me as I only play PlayStation but just in case others are reading.
Looks like the Artic 7P will be in my early Christmas sock 😀
