@samson001 What a stroke of good luck to get both! Agree on the disc version giving you the best options, but it doesn’t look as nice, the disc slot is a little awkward appearing.
But maybe my man @Unlucky13 might want to work something out with you, he’s still not been able to find one I don’t think. What do you think, bud? Want a digital PS5?

@Th3solution That's very kind of you to think of me! But I'm going to keep looking until I can get a disc version myself. No real interest in any all digital stuff.

I just had a conversation with my wife that I expect to need to wait until some point next year before they're available. It is what it is.

@Unlucky13 Ah, makes sense, bro. I have the disc version and I’m not sure what I’d do if I had Digital only. I have a PS4 disc copy of FF7R, Jedi Fallen Order, Immortals, and No Man’s Sky… so I’d be out of luck on the free PS5 upgrades in those cases. I’m also considering buying Miles Morales on PS4 disc since it’s cheaper and then get the free upgrade. It’s nice to not be locked out of physical media content.

@Th3solution Not with Jedi Fallen Order, they give you a code to redeem if you have the disk but a digital console. I'm surprised no one has done this before!

@Th3solution Yeah, back when most of us thought that we'd all be able to buy a PS5 by the Spring, my intention was to spend this year replaying a lot of my PS4 games upscaled to the PS5 version too. I'll still certainly do that to some degree, but if it ends up that I get a PS5 after there are ten or more PS5 games already out that I want to buy, then who knows if I'll ever have the time to go back and play the older ones again. But at this point, it looks like some of them will probably get left on the shelf.

standard edition is better , you cant go wrong with having more options thats not mandatory or intrusive. you're just gimping/limiting yourself if you keep the digital .

@JohnnyShoulder Ah yeah, that’s right - I saw something about that but quickly dismissed it when I saw something about sending in a proof of purchase. I’m pretty sure my receipt is at the bottom of a landfill somewhere by now. Not sure how else we are supposed to prove we own it physically. It seems a hassle, but I do hope more companies offer the conversion to digital upgrade. It would help those who have digital only PS5 consoles and I wouldn’t mind having a digital copy and a physical one of my games. BluRay movies have been doing it for years. But I guess the second hand physical media market is much bigger with games than movies, so there’s a lot more to lose as far as sales. In the case of Fallen Order, it’s likely no one is buying the game on PS4 anymore so there’s little lost capital there.

@Th3solution If you had bought it from somewhere like Amazon you would have a receipt on your account which could be used as proof of purchase.

@JohnnyShoulder Pretty sure I bought it from GameStop… I can’t remember. If I really get enthusiastic I might check with them to see if they can give me a proof of purchase.

For about twenty years, whenever I've bought a game in person, I put the receipt in the game's case behind the fliers and paperwork that come with it. Just in case. Its also neat to look back years later on when exactly I bought it, ect.
