I had a gaming PC at one point in my life, more specifically between 2016 and 2021. Certainly, PCs have many more benefits than consoles. The point is that I currently work as a developer and some days I spend more than 9 hours a week working in front of a computer. In my spare time, in my hobby that I love so much, which is gaming, the last thing I want is to be in front of a PC. As I work from home 3x a week, I finish work, go into the living room, and turn on my PS5.

I've thought about going back to the PC, but setting up a more expensive machine than a PS5 to play for a short time during the week and at weekends (when I can stay at home) and the fact that my work involves being on a PC, makes me go back and continue with the console.

For me today, a PC Gamer is a considerable investment that requires a lot of free time and a lot of money if you want to play at a higher quality than the consoles that already offer very satisfactory quality today. With the price of the PS5, Headset Pro, and VR2, I could build a very good machine, but that would be it, sitting in front of a computer playing the same games I already play on my old consoles, on my PS5, and on my tablet/cell phone when it's emulation. And, at least, playing on an Oled 55 with HDR, I can't see the defects of FF7 Rebirth, for example, as people are saying.

And besides all that I'm feeling lazy for still playing mainly on console even if I'm having a lot of fun. I don't want to build a PC, I don't even have the budget to do that and I don't want to. Consoles offer me enough to have fun with video games, but the internet makes me think it's only right if you have a gaming PC. I don't want consoles to end, I've been a PS fan since 2001 when I got my PS1, and being in love since then with the amazing franchises, experiences, etc. And playing on PSVR2 is another level of experience.

So just have both a console, and PC, when you’re able to? I’m with you about not wanting consoles to end, i definitely don’t want that to happen & i also have a PC/PS5/Switch setup; the thing with PC though, is that i never built one - i just went straight to my local best buy and asked for a good high end PC that would be future-proof for a awhile. i also bought a monitor , then went home & plugged it in like a console & that was it (excluding me having to buy & setup a computer desk) . I don’t understand the notion about PCs being a hassle because i jumped into PC gaming very late (2022) , so any nuisances people may have dealt with hasn’t affected me at all. If i ever do need to upgrade , the dude at the store showed me how to just open the side door of my pc and un-snap the ram or graphics card , so i believe all is good & since i just can’t learn how to play games with a KB&Mouse, i only use controllers with my PC & i feel right at home like it’s a console.

Whenever you can, maybe just try having all your gaming devices that you want , and just keep the ones you don’t use in a storage. it’s good to collect or have things even if you don’t use it much, at least you have options.
