@johncalmc The lack of trophy support is my one regret about opting for the Switch version, although I've gotten a lot of use out of the portability, so I still think I made the right choice.

I actually like this game enough that, once I 100% the Switch version, I might pick it up on PS4 in a steep sale and replay it one day. For the platinum.

It's nice to hear how much post-game content there is, though. Before I went to bed, I increased the level cap for all my soldiers and raised them all to level 23.

Any opinions about whether the complete edition is worth the extra $20? The base game seems pretty large with lots of content, but I don’t want to regret not getting the complete edition with all that DLC if it’s worth it. Yet, $50 is a tad steep. $30 for the base game seems reasonable. Thoughts?

@Th3solution All of the DLC can be purchased for $25 at any point on PSN in a bundle. Get the base game for $30, play through it, and if you feel like the 90+ hours of content hasn't satisfied you or that you just love the game enough to want more of it, you can spring for the DLC.

@Ralizah That makes sense. I have some store credit that I’m considering using to buy it. We’ll see.

@Th3solution Personally I would never by a complete edition without having played the game. Mind you I've got bad history of buying DLC and never bothering with it for various reasons. Usually once I've finished the story in a game I don't feel the need to carry on, especially with the longer games. Sometimes I intended to go back but never do. Season passes and the individual parts of DLC are always on sale, so I don't feel I have to buy it all at once.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

@JohnnyShoulder Yeah, I usually follow that approach too, but if the price difference is negligible, like $5-10, then I sometimes just go for the whole package. In this case it’s a significant increase over the base game’s cost. Strangely, every now and then the complete edition or ultimate edition of a game is actually cheaper than the base game.

I've been very conflicted on whether I want to re-purchase the game on PS4. I kind of want the platinum trophy for this, but there's really no value to getting it on PS4 aside from that. Besides running at a lower resolution (the significance of which is lessened by the soft, water-colorey artstyle) and slightly less foliage in the environments, the Switch version is almost identical.

@Ralizah Well, it might price drop further down the road, but I doubt much movement on the price in the immediate future. With the recent release of the complete edition, I figure this is where it will stay for a while.
The game does seem pretty conducive to replaying since the tactical movements and class structure offers a variety of approaches to combat. I’m sure the story is fairly linear or are there alternative story paths?

@Th3solution Aside from one fairly permanent choice you can make late in the game, it's almost entirely linear and set in stone story-wise.

There's a ton of unlockable side content, though.
