Topic: Sending PS5 in for repair

I bought a PS5 November 2020 and I couldn’t play new games installed or some games don’t install at all. This error code CE-100095-5 comes up and I couldn’t fix the problem. Sony’s site keeps taking me in circles and doesn’t take me to the page to send this system in for repair. Does anyone have the link or exact instructions on how to file a warranty claim? I tried looking up online and couldn’t find it.

@Don Best bet is to call Sony directly and speak to somebody to see what they suggest, and get direct details from them. They hide it well, but after some quick Google work I found this page on Sony's US website which provides a phone number. I also found a different phone number listed on third-party customer support sites (1-800-430-4433) but since I couldn't find that number listed on any official Sony website, I'd try calling the other one first.

@RogerRoger
Thank you very much, I will call them. Hopefully they don’t give me a hard time about allowing me to send the console to them. I think the error code is a system issue for sure.

@Don When I had issues with my PS5 (bricked within a couple of days of receiving it), I got through surprisingly quickly on the phone but I think I just got lucky.

I had a repaired/refurbished console within 2 weeks of sending it off so I hope it gets sorted for you and the turnaround is just as quick!

That’s good to know. I’m not sure if they will repair for an error code . I will be done with work soon. I will give them a call. I got my other consoles to keep me occupied while this is being fixed.

@RogerRoger
Sony will be sending me a box to ship to them for inspection/ repair. Even though it’s over a year since I bought the system, the rep said he will put in the order.

@Don I'm glad they were able to help, and fudge the rules slightly for you! Here's hoping everything goes smoothly and that your PS5 is back with you and working properly soon.

@Cwillis91
I got the shipping box yesterday and just dropped it off a few hours ago. I will let you know once there’s an update. I hope they receive your console soon.

@Cwillis91 When I sent mine back the person I spoke to on the phone said not to worry about that as it can take a couple of days to get to the engineers. I remember not getting any update from Sony themselves for a little while after Royal Mail said it had been delivered so don't panic yet!

@Cwillis91
Tracking says delivered on the 13th but Sony’s status still says not received yet. I guess they haven’t opened the package yet.
