Blame Pirates For The PSP Go’s Battery Being Entirely Internal

If you want to moan about the fact that the PSP Go’s battery is internal, blame pirates, not Sony. They’re just doing what they have to do to protect their platform from products such as Pandora’s Battery.
“You won’t be able to rip your games and play them on the [PSPgo] system, the firmware precludes that,” SCEA’s John Koller told PlayStation Insider. “There’s no external battery, so there’s a number of protections put into place on the system.”
Of course the big problem with all this is that when the battery eventually starts to give up charge, you’ll be shipping the thing back to Sony for a replacement – sometimes at a fee if you have no warranty. Once again the pirates win.
Obviously, this sucks hard for those of us who buy legitimately. But you should know that those of us who aren’t pirates always draw the short straw.
