Potential bias in the comments in favour of Sony. It was an average conference. Half filled with already announced games. Some of which will come to competitor platforms. Let's be honest folks, we can all feel it. The magic of Sony is under threat. We have been through this before with PS3. They're trying but I think it's all a bit late. God of war and GT clearly have been impacted by a commercial decision to harness the PS4 market. That's great and all from a commercial stand point but I was not feeling excited about God of war this time and GT just didn't grab be like Forza. I've enjoyed ratchet and clank but my PS is underutilized when compared to how my PS4 was rocking. I would've loved an announcement on Infamous, a full astro boy sequel, Unchartered with a new spin, wipeout and a Twisted Metal. Now that's leveraging your IP. I'm still unsure being GOW GT and Horizon how the 12 months will be fulfilled. 3 games a year is good not great. A game takes at most a month to complete. 6 top tier titles a year and I'm ecstatic. I know, people will reference third party releases but for goodness sake Sony's pitch is exclusives from their stable. I have to wonder if the budgets are not under pressure. They're drop feeding information, silent on a Gamepass response and totally non chalant about giving us visibility that is adequate enough to make up for mis steps in the PS5 to date. We have a system trapped in the shadow of the PS4 here. On the positive side from next year I am hopeful the PS5 games from that point in after God of War will leverage the power of the system if it even exists since 60fps at 4k is supposed to be next gen but I was under a misconception. Cerny proposed new design methodology for game world's that would harness the SSD. I'm not seeing that to the extent I think we all thought we would. Ratchet is a good example but it didn't really feel like a generational leap. Let's hope Forespoken a third party game can take care of that. They need someone who can interact with the gamers better at Sony and invest in ramping up titles as soon as possible without crunch. We are victims of commercial decisions here. To satisfy gaming appetite I will have to go look on the big green side to get my monthly new game fix where exclusives bring the experiences we are looking for.
