@GhostInAJar They're my favorite devs. At least my most respected right now. So yea I don't like saying that, but that's what it seems like anyway. And yea I know completing Witcher 3 in a week is the minority, but I was out of work and played 15 hours a day
For me this is quite annoying. I like to buy long duration games, MMOs, ARPGs, Looter shooters and the like so the longer the better. If I can get 200 hours from a game great. If I can get 500 even better. If I can get 5000, take my money, all of it. Sounds like a cop out to me "shorter campaign because people complained". Meh. Witcher 3 wasn't even that long I finished it in under a week as a completionist.
@Arnna Of course they cost more to make, and the market is enormous compared to what it was when they were cheaper to make, not to mention the exorbitant amount of post-launch monetizing most games do. Go look at the actual profit reports of current game makers then tell me how poorly you think they're doing compared to those of yesteryear.
Actually just learned about this a few days ago. Just on principle I won't be paying $70. The absolute vast majority of games don't even warrant $60 so $70 is out of the question. I do buy about 10-15 games per year at full box price currently. That will now be 0. I will buy second hand discs ONLY so that I can be sure none of the money goes where I don't want it going, to greedy mega corps. This is my protest. I hope more are as stubborn as me.
