Re: Here's Why Rocket League Can't Run at 120FPS on PS5

All they had to do was uncap the 60fps mode in the PS4 version. As we've seen from Digital Foundry, this would have resulted in frame rates around 120fps. They made the mistake of releasing a PS5 update that tells the PS5 to not run in backwards compat mode, and therefore no fps gains will be seen.

Re: PS4 Firmware Update 5.53-01 Released

I think this update is different for EU users, perhaps to be more compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into force tomorrow (May 25th).

I'm from Australia, and the update was 450 mb, much larger than this site and posters who are based in the UK (EU for that matter).

I'm beginning to think that the firmware/user-agreements for EU users and non-EU users are different. Although this was perhaps already true for localisation purposes, now the difference is more substantial because of the GDPR.

Sony's website states that the latest update is 5.53 (for all geographical versions). Seeing that it has not listed 5.53-01 makes me believe that the 70mb version of the update release today was only for EU users, while everyone outside the EU received a different update (mine was 450 mb and I had to restart). This also makes sense that a restart would not be required if it only updated terms/conditions for EU users.
