I have not played it since it came out, but I don't recall feeling it was more difficult than other entries. I did really love the setting, and it set up a lot of themes for future games. I always hoped they'd return to Okinawa, but they never did (other than cutscenes). I look forward to playing this, though I didn't realize how extensive the remake was going to be. Kind of just thought it was tuned up with the new episodes added. I will say it's kind of hard to go back to the games in the series with loading screens before battles and entering buildings. I suspect they'll fix that, which is nice. It makes the game flow much better.
It's so strange thinking back to the earlier gaming generations when the manufacturers used to be in a race to the bottom in terms of console cost. Not anymore. I remember when GameCube dropped to $99, and still no one bought one!
Two stone cold classics from the glory days of video games. I don't need another version, but I'm glad more people will get to experience them! If only Game Arts would make a new one.
