It was my very first fallout... I was hooked from the moment I heard the opening theme. I'm playing new vegas now, and maybe it's because I'm in a different place in life, but it just doesn't have the same hook that FO4 did — I don't feel as vested in the story or the character. I can kinda see what people talk about with the dialogue trees being better and all that, but I don't reaaaaaly feel it's all that different, or that much superior.
well, IIRC the real reason we cant have more games is that “Parasite Eve” is based on a japanese novel, and squeenix doesnt have the rights to use the title again… which is why the 3rd game is “the 3rd birthday” and not “parasite eve 3”. It didnt sell all that well either, so that didnt help.
@Chibbie Welcome to Metal Gear! That's par for the series, for better (MGS1) or for worse (MGS4's cutscenes has even longer cutscenes). Stick with it though, there's an amazing game behind all those cutscenes.
@FuzzieGinge88 interesting… yeah, I’ve only made it as far as the end of the virtous mission, but i havent had any of the performance issues I keep on hearing about. I guess I’ll have to play it all the way through first.
@liamCroft, so is the new style's camera closer to mgs3: subsistence's camera then? The original MGS3 had the top-down camera, but subsistence changed it to a free camera. If legacy mode is locked to top-down instead of free, then i'm definitely playing on new style, it was overall way more enjoyable that way.
Other than that, excellent article! This is the main reason I purchased a PS5 and I'm looking forward for the game to arrive next week.
