@Th3solution A few reasons why I think this is the case:

-RE games, as survival horror titles, are broadly quite short compared to first party Sony titles. This means they either don't outstay their welcome, or leave you wanting more, or both

-RE games do innovate and change themselves up a lot from entry to entry, even in very direct sequels like 7 to RE Village. Even the remakes add crazy stuff like Crimson Heads, stalker Mr. X or knife parry which fundamentally change their source games.

-A focus on replayable, high quality playthroughs, rather than one and done mega campaigns, enables events in cinematic games to be more memorable and distinct. I have literally every combat encounter in RE4 burned into the back of my skull
