@dark_knightmare2 AC also peaked at less than 25k players than Veilguard on the biggest gaming platform in existence. This is my last reply. Bye. Sorry for having to ruin the party with facts.
@TheKurgan In my defense people keep replying to me. Maybe this forum needs to work more like reddit so I can reply to people in a separate thread from what others are saying.
@species People kept saying that DA was more of a console game as well. This argument will hopefully die soon as it's no longer representative of reality or at least don't magically make up for the weak sales on PC. As for the rest of your comment if I respond I would be just repeating myself and spam.
@PuppetMaster Aren't there over 1 billion users on Steam? And isn't every studio including Sony releasing games on there because the player base is huge? And didn't Shadows peak at less than 25k players than the notorious flop Veilguard?
@graymamba Anger? The game is a super duper expensive AAA release that peaked at ~25k less players than Veilguard on Steam. It's just facts. I am just trying to have a serious discussion about Ubisoft.
@Lowdefal If you have been keeping up with the news over the past few years you would know that studios like Ubisoft can't be happy with 1M players day 1.
@AhmadSumadi Actually read my posts instead of getting triggered yourself. The game is not doing well at all. It peaked at less players than Veilguard. And Ubisoft were talking about 1M players while other studios talk about 1M sales.
@LiamCroft We are in 2025 not 2010. Steam is where it's at. PS5 sales are barely ahead of PS4 sales and Xbox is dunzo. Steam is a great way to see how well a game is selling. Keep in mind that Ubisoft had a ton of flops recently and they even delayed Shadows a bunch. Wait a minute. Why am I telling you this. You already know all about it. You just don't want to treat the game fairly because you don't like what some people are saying on Youtube.
@graymamba Sales? According to Steam the game sold less than Veilguard. Games like Shadows and Veilguard can't sell that poorly and make enough money back. Especially considering that Ubisoft had a ton of flops recently. And the delayed Shadows a bunch just like Veilguard. That increases the budget even more.
@Korgon Jason Schreier was quick to gloat about Veilguard reaching the top of the sales charts when it launched while the game was a complete flop. I get that you don't like the internet discourse surrounding the game, but be reasonable.
@ShogunRok Would you really rather we all just pretend that everything is fine even when it's obviously not? You are a journalist so if anything you should be even more aware of what a bad situation Ubisoft is in right now.
The peak player count on steam is worse than even Veilguard. It's obvious that this is just Ubisoft trying to look strong. They even used 'players' instead of sales. Yikes.
@Dan12836666 PS3 emulation on PC is in a great state so you should just dump your copies and play it that way. You don't even need a good PC to run them upscaled and at 60fps.
I recently started playing GOW 3 and I gotta say that it's just perfect mix of gameplay and cinematics. I only fear that due to testosterone levels dropping globally we will never have a game that awesome ever again.
The big problem with this game started because Ubisoft insisted that they were making a historical game instead of rightfully pointing out that they always changed history to make a better game. It was a self inflicted wound.
@breakneck "nothing worst than some JRPGS" that genre looks AA 99% of the time. They didn't have the budget of Veilguard. With high budget comes high sales targets. And Veilguard was not good enough to entice people into purchasing it.
@breakneck Veilguard was not good. Neither the story not the gameplay were good enough to make you want to play this game for 50+ hours. That's why it didn't sell.
@Northern_munkey Just want to let you know that Piracy is massive on PC so probably most high end pc users live in countries with weak piracy laws. Just spend as much as possible on PC and you are golden.
@TimeDelayedGamer Without progress and growth there is only inevitable stagnation and death. One of the few redeeming qualities of the current US administration is that they are restarting their interest in space exploration. If you want to guarantee a future of our species: that is it. There is nothing else.
@nessisonett It's not simplistic. People were saying just 3 years ago that you can't take over more land with force, but those people are quiet now. They got reminded how the world really works and has worked since day1.
@nessisonett Well we need growth and progress. And nothing does that better than capitalism. Even the Chinese hopped on the train. If the west don't adopt AI someone else will and it will be them that rule the world.
@OldGamer999 The big problems are presentation and quest design. You expect a AAA studio like Bethesda to be flexing muscles especially in the intro, but they are doing the bare minimum. Dare I say below the bare minimum for a AAA game in 2025. It honestly feels like a Bethesda inspired space game made by a AA studio.
And the quest design often made me ask that iconic question "Don't you guys have phones?". And even Mass Effect 1 in 2007 felt and looked more impressive as a space RPG.
@dardel Is there any chance that they will reveal what happened to the 2nd and 11th legions. I don't know much about the lore but I love these types of mysteries.

@GymratAmarillo The peak player count is not an estimation.

@Jey887 People were saying the same thing about Veilguard. The truth is always somewhere in the middle.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner Compared to other AAA games they are not doing well. And they needed this one to do extra well.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Seemingly Claims Second Biggest Launch in Series History
@Lowdefal I actually made up my mind when AC Shadows peaked at 64k players on Steam on Sunday. Even Veilguard managed to do better.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Seemingly Claims Second Biggest Launch in Series History
@Lowdefal Xbox keeps offering gamepass despite not making profits. They had to either double down on purchasing studios like AKB or end it all.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Seemingly Claims Second Biggest Launch in Series History
@UltimateOtaku91 If people are using Ubisoft's subscription* to play the game that's not exactly great for them. They needed the money.

@betasector The system seller that convinced Microsoft to stop having exclusive games and maybe even PS competitor system in general.

AI is here to stay and will only get more popular. Make sure that your career has nothing to do with intelligence unless you want to be replaced.

This game is creatively bankrupt. I can't even fathom how any studio can work on something so boring and lame for so long.

@DennisReynolds And this is the point of the convo where all that matters is the success of Intergalactic.
Seeing as how they disabled the comments on YT... I wish them luck. They'll need it.
Re: Abby Actress Kaitlyn Dever Aware of Outsized Expectations for Role in HBO's The Last of Us
@DennisReynolds ND is a much more expensive studio that operates with higher budgets and less game releases than Pokemon.
Even SM2 disappointed so badly that they canceled the DLCs.
We are only getting TLOU3 if they have no other choice.
Re: Abby Actress Kaitlyn Dever Aware of Outsized Expectations for Role in HBO's The Last of Us
@DennisReynolds And yet making a sequel would be extremely expensive and time consuming while not guaranteeing increased sales.
TLOU3 is only happening if they have no other choice.
