Re: 'It's a Huge Upgrade': PS5 Pro Poised to Improve Massively in 2026

@LogicStrikesAgain The thing is though, even upgrading to a PS5 Pro is probably going to cost you £400 which is just too far for me.

The PS5 Pro to me, seems like it's more of a luxury item geared towards the tech savvy who also already have a top of the range TV which I also do not have.

I'm not going to be persuaded to spend all that money to potentially play GTA 6 at 60fps.

@SuperYlvis Yeah, Xbox will never be on top again now even if they release a new console. Why would all the people who have bought into the Sony Ecosystem buy the next Xbox instead if Microsoft keeps releasing games on their competitors? I don't really see the point in them making a new console to be honest.

I still think there will be competition between the PS5 and Switch 2 as Switch 2 is less of a niche now with the added power. Hopefully the competition will push Sony to diversify their first party exclusives a bit more.

@get2sammyb If it wasn't for the failed live service push, I'd say Sony have had a near flawless showing this gen.

The PS5 can be credited with ending the console wars with Xbox (with the help of Microsoft massively dropping the ball).

I just wish the live service push never happened. So much wasted resources on cancelled games and we could have had a lot more decent first party games on the system instead.

It would be pretty embarrassing if Sony didn't outsell all their rivals after discounting the PS5 for Black Friday.

It's amusing to me that people have shifted their crosshairs to Nintendo now that Xbox have waved the white flag. PS5 has a 5 year head start on the Switch 2 so it's not really a competition.

I have both consoles, one for portable gaming and the other for the 'big games' and I'm happy for them to just coexist. One doesn't need to 'beat' the other.
