Draconis Deviation Games

In the formative years of the PS5 generation, Sony made a number of agreements with third-party developers to publish their projects. Deviation Games was one of them, but its game was cancelled in early 2024. Now, footage of what it was working on has been published online.

Leaked by Dusk Golem, two gameplay videos totalling more than 10 minutes of gameplay footage have been set live on YouTube. The project was apparently being made under the codename "Draconis" and, if you'd really been following the PlayStation rumour mill of the past few years, is what some insiders have been referring to as the "ooze game".

This is because the game was going to feature a lot of ooze. Though, according to Dusk Golem, what was being worked on at Deviation Games hasn't been turned into something else; it's now died completely as a "full-on cancelled game".

You can view the two gameplay videos below, which depict a third-person shooter:

It was confirmed in March 2024 that Deviation Games had been closed, with its debut project never officially shown off. Sony's partnership with the team was revealed in 2021, where it was said a "brand-new original IP" was in the works.

That never saw the light of day, but the above footage at least hints at what Deviation Games was going for. Earlier this year, some artwork from the project also made its way online.

While the footage is clearly taken from an early build, do you like the idea of what Draconis was going for? Post all your thoughts in the comments below.
