Re: Sony's $350 Official PS5 Monitor Has a Very Cool Gimmick for Gamers

Venivik

Why are so many people mentioning 4k...
Why have the console upscale to 4k that it can't even do natively. You must really not understand display tech to say this.

A small screen with a controller charger at this price is clearly aimed at college students in dorms or families that have to share rooms.

But the IPS is the true complaint at that price, no arguments there. The $210 asus Tuf is 300hz with more features and a more reliable name brand.
Unless there's some unmentioned magic? The old school Playstation tvs did have better picture quality when they came out. As a display Tech aficionado, I place my bets this is the same display quality as the Portal has.
I see no mention of HDR rating either, so it's going to have horrible hdr guaranteed. Remember if the display does not advertise being HDR1000 or above, you're not going to be impressed with its color.

Re: It Seems Most PS5 Fans Prefer Returnal Over Saros, But It's Not That Straightforward

Venivik

The worst part about Saros is the asset flips. I don't feel like I saw a new biome until I hit my own five and other than the bosses I don't think I've seen a single new enemy that wasn't in returnal and I'm in biome 6 of 8.

For a full price game to basically be DLC...

Also I disagree completely on the gameplay because I think the whole Shield mechanic slows down the game. Reternal had more frantic moments, if I get rid of my special weapon ammo I can play it like returnal.

@Ender517Man dumb would be YOU ignoring that I said I hate the ability to manipulate the difficulty with the modifiers to remove the corruption on the artifacts like you're saying.I play with that turned off and artifact destroyed after biome on.

It's artificial difficulty, they asset flipped returnal and charged full price. Eclipse mechanic sucks. You're happy with no effort, clearly most of us aren't.

And returnal was a unique experience from a narrative perspective. No one is saying a bullet hell is new.

It seems like you have some real issues comprehending what you read.

Re: Poll: Is Saros Better Than Returnal?

Saros story SUCKS.
Saros characters SUCK.
Best part of Returnal was finding previous dead Selenes audio records.
I hate the ability to manipulate the difficulty with modifiers, shows they put no work in new enemy combat.
Eclipse has purely corrupted artifacts without adjusting, that's artificial difficulty.
Eclipse mechanic seems like it's only meant to extend gameplay time.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE AGREGIOUS ASSET FLIPS!?
$70 game, 8 biomes. I'm on the 6th biome, I'm not even sure I've seen a non-boss enemy that wasn't in Returnal. Biome 5 is the only Biome that felt unique to Returnal so far.

This game is full price DLC, Returnal - Now with YELLOW and a common male protagonist.

Re: Poll: Do Crimson Desert's PS5 Patches Put Other Devs to Shame, or Is the Game Simply Unfinished?

Venivik

How exactly can you even accuse them of intentionally sabotaging their own launch... You could say the updates started with reviewers, that's it. Theres no precedent that updates would be good PR, that's a gamble on a gamble, actually crazy to even suggest.
Also, I was there day 1, had a reset save bug. Cost me 2 minutes. The majority of patches are putting in COMMUNITY REQUESTS. It wasn't MISSING a chest, they didn't want you to have one. It wasn't missing button remaps, they thought they had the perfect control system. I've seen Koreans play starcraft, I'm not telling THEM they don't know controls. Plus it wasn't hard to learn the controls at all, a mix of Elden ring and Soulcalibur, no prob.

Most importantly, this Definitely makes Unreal 5 look bad. Without question. A 1st release on a new engine from a no name dev and version 1.0 can run to the end of the game in 1440p, 120fps with raytracing and no upscaling on a 3 year old 4080 and be the best looking game available? I don't think devs look bad. I don't think this makes unity look bad. Or Cryengine. But at this, I would love to see Epic get a class action lawsuit from these devs that chose them and all the consumers that got sold into the idea of throwing new hardware to brute force their immersion breaking software. BY FAR this makes Unreal 5 looks bad
