Re: Mini Review: Hypercharge: Unboxed (PS5) - Aesthetically Pleasing, Disappointingly Thin

I reviewed this for my Nintendo Switch channel back in the day (giving it a 6 at the time) and got absolute trolled in the comments - to the point it was looking more and more like the devs where stirring up the comments saying the game was great and I didnt know what I was talking about it.

It got really nasty in the end - I reviewed 100s of games and never had that issue on any other game (and turned comments off in end), so can only assume it was a co-ordinated effort to rubbish my opinion.

Be interesting to read these comments if they still care. Seen few already saying they had it on Switch and it wasnt very good (I concur) and already a couple overly praising it...

Just ... be warned. These guys (or their fan base etc) do not play fair!

@bozz Wow... I mean all art is subjective, but Vanillaware artstyle is simply amazing to look at. Suspect you are in a massive minority.

Game is amazing. Huge VW fan and not sure yet if this hits the heights of my favourite (Odin Sphere), but its such a cool game and will be hammering it before Dragons Dogma 2!

@Maaster89 @Falien

You CAN play solo, but as cliched as it is, its best with multiplayer for sure (and easier!). Much better feeling of camaraderie and helping each other. You really dont need voice chat (although again, its another level on top of multiplayer of getting more from it) - the controls have plenty of easy to use emotes that give your team the basics of what you want to do or respond to them.

Solo is actually a bit of a different experience as you can take the map at your own pace and do a lot more exploring off on your own, where teams is a bit more of getting from objective to objective.

Its an absolute blast, one of the best games played in ages.

@UltimateOtaku91 On PC, if you disable cross play, multiplayer works. Had no issues with random squads last night. Had players join midgame, or found a start of a mission together.

Seems to be some problems out there, but was ok.

Still an issue joining an ongoing mission with cross play enabled, but for now, give that a go?

PC also had a big patch yesterday meant to address this so maybe that helped me. That patch coming to PS5 asap.

@UltimateOtaku91 but what are you “winning”? It’s a co op game. Yea you can spend more for better weapons but it’s not going to give you an advantage against other players in the squad. If anything if you have a better geared player then YOU will probably get more rewards too. It’s not an issue for me personally but jeez gamers will moan about anything. Amount of hate this game has got is insanse, having a blast on PC

Re: Poll: Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bugs are Apparently a Real Problem, But Have You Had Any?

Was quite surprised to get 3 "game breaking" bugs in my first hour of play last night;

1) The first big fight bugged out and wasnt recognising the triangle QTE prompt to move the fight on to the next stage. Tried for 20 mins but couldnt do it. Reverted to previous Quick Save and worked first time.

2) Got completely stuck on some rooftop railings. Tried for a few mins to come unstuck, had to revert Quick Save

3) In another set piece fight, everything got locked in super slow-mo mode. Assume its a Power for one of the characters, but couldnt get out of it. Again, reverted save and passed through it no issue next time.

Each bug though stopped my progress and had to reload an old save. Some AAA games have been a bit buggy on launch, but never had one recently cause so much hassle in first hour. Hope the remaining time is less troublesome.
