Re: Red Dead Redemption PS5 Another Subpar Re-Release from Rockstar

Shredz

This RDR “upgrade” is exactly the kind of nonsense dragging the industry down. It’s the bare minimum they could get away with. No DualSense features, no new content or QoL, nothing that suggests anyone actually cared.

When a port is this lazy, it usually means the studio handed it to junior staff because it’s low-risk and no one important wants to spend time on it. Big publishers love this approach. AAA development costs are so out of control now that they cling to old IP like a safety blanket. Recycle a game, barely touch it, ship it, profit. Zero creativity needed.

People notice. We’re not idiots. These half-baked re-releases keep happening because they’re easy money and the industry knows it. Instead of doing anything fresh or ambitious, we keep getting the safest, most lifeless version of something we’ve already played. This RDR port isn’t just weak. It’s another reminder of how scared the industry has become of actually being creative.

Re: Even More PS5 Price Increases Being Considered by Sony

Sony’s first-party line-up for the PS5 has been an increasing disappointment over the past five years, with too few new releases, too many remasters and failed live service experiments equating to a lacklustre 9th generation. PS5 sales are already declining, the hardware is nearly five years old now.

Re: Nintendo Is Displaying Hubris Which Would Make Even PS3 Era Sony Blush

So halfway through 2025 Nintendo gives us......No OLED screen, a 5220 mAh battery barely bigger than my phone, £75 games, Joy-Cons without Hall Effect sticks, 1 TB memory cards costing $200, Charging for a "tutorial" game that looks designed by a student on work experience, 64 GB max cartridge size, a measly 40 FPS in Cyberpunk in docked mode, Retail boxes with download codes, Subscription service to emulate Gamecube games? (when Dolphin emulator now boots every GC, Wii and Virtual Console game in existence) oh and a Gamecube controller that only works with Gamecube games. (wtf)

No thank you Nintendo. I'm more than happy to patiently wait for the Steam Deck 2 / ROG Ally 2.

@Dimey I disagree with Microsoft going the Sega route and becoming a publisher. The next "tenth" generation of consoles is very much PS6 vs Switch 2. Personally I'd love to see a second PS6 SKU launching alongside following on from the success of the PS Portal which was essentially an 'experiment'.
