@Northern_munkey Well yeah of course "my side" is getting defensive because we're on the defending side of the argument lol. But sure, if we were to look at it that way then the "any% runs aren't legit"-side were the ones getting upset from the start over any% being a popular category, right?
I really don't get everyone here saying "this is not a true/legit speedrun" like who are you to decide that? There's multiple speedrun categories of every game for a reason, and no category is less of a speedrun than another. Some categories might be more interesting to watch than others but that's entirely subjective. I personally find the ER any% run way more exciting than let's say All Remembrances (There's a LOT of riding) but I totally get why people want to see that instead. I just feel like that's because it's way easier to grasp what's happening in a run that's visually more similar to a casual playthrough.
@Palleon I really don't mean this in a demeaning way but you dont have any idea what you're talking about. Every skip that you see in the run is frame perfect without pause buffering, not "no clip mode and dropping down to the boss". There's a reason they updated the article to at least TRY to explain why this is an absolutely insane achievement.

Re: By the Way, Elden Ring's Speedrun Record Is Now Less Than 7 Minutes
It just seems weird to me to go "this sucks" unprovoked and then turn around and say "why do you care so much?" the irony isn't lost on me.
