I think people need to understand that Sony is in a position here that no matter what they did they were going to be looked at in the wrong. So they decided the banning was the only right way to go rather than outrage the entire Jewish population and all the vocal supporters of them.
In the post the author says that when the name change becomes live for all it wouldnt do any good since his purchases are tied to his current account but I can confirm that isn't true as I'm in the beta and I changed my name and all 926 games purchased followed over to my new PSN ID
