Re: Another Key Assassin's Creed Dev Leaves Ubisoft

Mr___Singh

@twitchtvpat You are doing the same thing again. You are taking fragments of old backlash, early footage, and studio
reshuffles and turning that into certainty about how the final game would have turned out. That is speculation dressed up as hindsight. Yes, the project clearly had issues. That is exactly my point. A remake of a beloved classic entering that kind of development spiral is not normal for a healthy studio. It is another example of Ubisoft struggling to manage projects cleanly. Saying
"we saw what it looked like and it didn't look good" does not prove it was doomed. It proves the project was in trouble, which reinforces the wider argument about Ubisoft's recent output and internal mess.

And then, the Black Flag point is just semantics. If a game is actively being worked on internally, it can absolutely be delayed without the public ever hearing about it. The only difference is that Ubisoft does not have to publicly admit it. You even said yourself "we know it's coming," which means you acknowledge it exists behind the scenes. If something exists behind the scenes, timelines can slip behind the scenes too. Not announcing a game does not magically freeze time on its development...
