Re: PS Plus Won't Be Required for PS5, PS4 Online Multiplayer This Weekend

MrStark

Online multiplayer should be free. Period.

Silly service arbitrarily walls off online multiplayer because Sony KNOWS nobody would bother signing up for it otherwise.

Smh. Typical nonsense in the gaming industry.

No other industry does such nickel and diming.

Don't worry, they'll get off their lazy backsides and make it free if Microsoft makes it so next gen because "they don't want to be seen as the bad guy".

Re: Going Platinum #1: Rocket League

MrStark

Rocket League wasn't my kind of game. Multiplayer games are notoriously grindy for trophies.

I have 88 Platinum trophies.

Just beat Resogun on Veteran difficulty last night on PS3. It was a nightmare to do.

Platinum #89 is in my sights.

Re: The Next Horizon Game Is an MMO for Mobile and PC, Prompting Fury from PS5 Fans

MrStark

Hahahaha. I literally said the state of gaming is a mess on another article and now we get this. Once again, PS5 IS THE WORST PLAYSTATION CONSOLE EVER. Not only does it have fewer exclusives but the quality of the games has dropped quite a bit since the incredible days of the PS3.

Thank you, Sony, for confirming what I already knew: console gaming is dead.

There is literally no reason to own a console from Sony or Microsoft anymore.

Re: PS5 Is the Second Fastest Selling PlayStation Ever in the US, Despite Price Hikes and Production Issues

MrStark

Worst PlayStation console ever.

PS3 got not one, two or even three but FOUR top tier all-time great games, namely: Demon’s Souls, Uncharted 2, Journey and The Last Of Us. PS5 hasn’t had ONE all-time great game yet from first party studios.

You can talk about success all you want because it’s like a snowball effect, but the facts speak for themselves. PlayStation has NEVER looked and been more boring, annoying and yawn inducing since its inception.

Looking back at the PS2's weak first party offerings compared to the competition, I’d take that over what we have now because at least the games back then didn’t FEEL like watered down, live service wannabe games. They were full blown releases.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for November 2025?

MrStark

OMG. That was the WORST gaming related event since the Xbox One reveal. It's THAT bad. It was just updates on existing games. It's so bad that it makes me want to quit gaming.

Seriously, Sony, you have a worse Japanese showing than Xbox? And yet the "usual folk" on here had the nerve to throw shade at Xbox's Japanese showcase with "they didn't show much". Ha. They showed far more stuff than this waste of space.

I hate Sony. This is not the same company that was soooo likeable (even with their faults) during the PS3 era. PlayStation has gone back to the arrogant "just have to turn up" attitude of the PS2 era. Disgusting.

Re: Don't Expect Any PS5 Exclusives from Square Enix in the Future

MrStark

It's all over! I reckon this is the beginning of the end of major third party exclusives or even exclusives altogether. Microsoft have played this beautifully. With the rise of dev costs and the fact that gamers are on so many devices means exclusives are a thing of the past. They're so smart. 🎩

Re: Leaked Cross-Buy Icon on PS5 Hints at Mysterious Pro-Consumer Move from Sony

MrStark

So, are all those people who gave Xbox stick for going to PC and their next gen plans going to walk back what they said? I told everyone Microsoft are the biggest company in the world for a reason. You don't get to nearly 4 Trillion net worth without being smart.

Don't worry guys, Xbox is the TRUE industry leader. Go ask, Sony. They just keep following them. Hahaha : P

Re: Talking Point: If Xbox Drops the Cost, Would You Be Happy Still Paying for PS6 Multiplayer?

MrStark

If Microsoft ditches the paid requirement for online multiplayer it will be a master stroke indeed.

Here’s the thing about their next console that people haven’t caught onto: it will be substantially more powerful than PS6. Also, PS6 buyers will have to buy both the PS6 and PS6 Pro to get the performance gains on par with the next Xbox which will mean they’ll pay as much if not more than what the next Xbox costs.

Also, don’t rule out a weaker, cheaper console for those who want to get into next gen Xbox although it could be that Rog Ally serves that purpose albeit in handheld form.

Re: Black Ops 6 Conveniently Free Again as Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Launches

MrStark

@WobberleyBob You just answered your own complaint: don’t fix what ain’t broke.

Those people who buy it annually love it the way it is. Still, every new game has a new campaign and pve as well as pvp. It’s a great package. Honestly, I wish PlayStation studios did something similar with TLOU Factions. Give me annual updates and tweaks etc.

Re: PS6 Could Be the Only Next-Gen Console Charging for Online Multiplayer

MrStark

If true, this would be welcome news for console gaming. Charging for online is nonsense. It’s essentially gatekeeping. Xbox will definitely be a viable console next Gen and that’s a good thing.

Lol@ people downplaying this. Typical. I remember when PS3 gamers complained about Xbox 360 charging for online. Ok…. then when Sony announced it was charging for online with PS4 all I heard was crickets. This shows those gamers (not all of them mind you) were either hypocritical or were just complaining for the sake of it just to throw shade at Xbox. Pathetic.

Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch

MrStark

@carlos82 Glad to hear your PS5 experience is good so far.

As for which hardware is superior, it’s Series X. Let me put it this way by giving you an example of my own personal experience: I was playing RE 4 Remake Separate Ways dlc. I got to the part where Ada has to go to the Freezer and inevitably deal with Regeneradors. Now, I had a dilemma. I had to put the game aside because of dinner during which I wanted to use Amazon Instant Video on my Series X (to watch a film whilst having dinner). The problem was the precious checkpoint/save point was almost ten minutes back. This became a non-issue for Series X because the console ALLOWS YOU TO CONTINUE WHERE YOU LEFT OFF VIA QUICK RESUME. If I had this dilemma on PS5, I would’ve been screwed and had to redo that segment again.

I love PlayStation like the next man but, having extensively used Series X AND ALL ITS FEATURES, playing on PS5 feels like you’re playing on an outdated console. It is missing so many awesome features that Series X has.

Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch

MrStark

@Rich33 Games like RE 2 Remake and Alien Isolation live and die through their sound design. Sound is so important to the experience of survival horror games. As for the point you made, RE 2 Remake is mostly in the RPD and indoors. It has music and sound that is ambient which greatly enriches the experience. You can’t write it off by thinking it’s an air con or generator because that’s just not the case.

Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch

MrStark

@bazchillin Yes. The problem is their poor OS and general hardware design. They make the BEST FIRST PARTY GAMES. I won't deny that. That's why I LOVE PLAYSTATION, but my god is their hardware a mess. It's drives me up the wall. Why do I have to suffer overheating or fan noise when the rival console has no such issues? I mean EVEN Nintendo doesn't have such problems. I can't believe I even said that but it's true. Goodness me.

Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch

MrStark

@bazchillin I had to replace two PS5s because the fan noise was unbearable and one of them would overheat (I have never had either of these issues on an Xbox).

PS5 is such a poorly designed piece of hardware that not even Sony cares about it. Sony DOES NOT recognise Coil Whine as a defect. Yes. You read that right. That means if anyone's PS5 has it, tough s*** because you ain't getting a replacement, son. Absolutely awful. Bear in mind, Series S/X have no such issues.

It's clear as day to see that Series X is comfortably the superior hardware in more ways than one.

Want to know what's even worse? PS5 Pro also has fan noise on par with base PS5. Sony didn't even bother eliminating it for their PRO hardware. That speaks volumes about PlayStation's hardware.

It's so bad that you have Influencers on YT talking about ways to fix issues with PS5. How on Earth anyone can even debate me on this is beyond belief. I'm all for a discussion but when something is as clear as day then yeah...

Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch

MrStark

@Ainu20 There are clear advantages of Series X over PS5: it’s quieter, has better OS, quick resume, auto hdr and just has overall a better user experience. PS5 may have ever so slightly faster load times but outside of that Series X is without a doubt the more impressive piece of kit.

Hysterical? How? Everything I said is constructive and fair. I gave Sony the first four years of last Gen and the early years of PS3/360. Let’s not throw personal insults. You have repeatedly replied to my comments looking to instigate a debate. You can feel free to do so WITHOUT personal insults. Thank you.

Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch

MrStark

The worst mid gen refresh in gaming history. Microsoft set the standard with mid Gen refreshes with the superlative Xbox One X.

I love PlayStation like the next man but their hardware leaves a lot to be desired.

Outside the first four years of the Xbox One era and the RROD fiasco, Microsoft have produced the better hardware. There can be no debate about that.

PS6 is going to be YET ANOTHER case of inferior hardware from Sony. But, hey, they’re the casual friendly, go-to brand for console gaming so they’ll sell the most and it won’t matter. Unbelievable.

Re: Xbox Boss Believes Sony's Strategy of Console Exclusives Is 'Antiquated'

MrStark

@add286 It’s not working because they’re having to raise prices and put their games elsewhere. Sooner or later, it will be ALL their catalogue. You guys can’t see it (or possibly refuse to see it) but that’s the reality of the situation. PlayStation CANNOT survive on its own. Software is where you make your money and if you’re making less than before then you have to go elsewhere to make up the deficit. Mr. Stark would be proud

That’ll be all. Peace.

Re: Xbox Boss Believes Sony's Strategy of Console Exclusives Is 'Antiquated'

MrStark

She’s right. Games live off sales. If you lock a game to specific ecosystem, you’re limiting its reach. Look at RE 3 Remake, it is the worst received RE Remake and yet it has sold like crazy thanks to its reach. Helldivers II has obviously benefited from being on Xbox. There are plenty of other examples too.

What I find hypocritical from the article writer is that Sony is essentially doing the same as Microsoft (releasing games on PC which means they’re no longer exclusive) and yet he’s trying to make Bond’s words to be bad: Xbox fans close your eyes. Another example of baiting from him. Poor.

Re: PS6 Release Date Touted for 2027, Cheaper But Less Powerful Than Next Xbox

MrStark

The only way Xbox makes any kind of comeback is Sony pulls another PS3 (arrogant, tone-deaf, overpriced, weaker hardware, more complicated hardware for developers, inferior controller, inferior online etc.) which I don't think Sony will.

Xbox has to find its own niche and settle on it. If I had to make a judgement on what Xbox's future plans are, I'd say they will put out a hybrid console for those who want to play natively and make more advancements in Cloud (for the inevitable point when Cloud reaches mass adoption in which case they will have a huge advantage over Sony and Nintendo).

Re: Ninja Gaiden 4 Isn't Even Out on PS5 Yet, But Here's Its DLC

MrStark

@PuppetMaster Yes, but the WAY they report Xbox news leaves a lot to be desired. They make it out to be a negative thing and yet when PlayStation gets criticism online this article writer writes opinion pieces trying to “bring context”. Yeah, right.

I like all three brands equally so if this was happening on Pure Xbox I would say the same thing.

Criticism or news reporting is fine but you have to be as objective as possible or you’ll come across as being obnoxious.

Re: PS6 May Go Uncontested as Rumours of Next-Gen Xbox Cancellation Spiral

MrStark

It's all over. Just a matter of time before they pull the plug. The barometer for leaving the hardware market is <20 million consoles. They are only about 10 million ahead of that. I have no doubt they'll struggle to sell 20 million next gen.

Imho, they will pivot to PC and Cloud Gaming. As much as I would like to pivot to PlayStation, I think a change is much needed to put a smile on my face. I’ll go towards Nintendo and use Xbox for third party and the odd first party that appeals to me (same with PlayStation).
