I'm fine with all of this. If they give us ownership over our digital licence and let us sell it, lend it out. Basically give us the same rights purchasing our physical licences did. They'll still be saving money on distribution and manufacturing as an all digital, except they'll have made their customers happy by giving them some control over the product they're actually purchasing, a licence.

If you're gonna carry the torch for Sony in the comments section, you should use the language they're being very clear about.

It's actually funny, the new Ps6 will cost exponentially more than previous generations, while also offering less at launch. Make it make sense! The all digital future is ***** and not one I plan on getting on with. If helix offers a disc drive, even if it's optional and sold separately by a third party, I will go there and use my ps5 until there's no more games for it, then sell and be done with Sony. If both go full digital, I'm done period.

No disc, no buy for me.... Until its over 50% off on a sale. If it never gets there then they never get my money. I don't buy digital rentals for full price.

More convenient for your shareholders I think is the full quote if he was being honest. As long as we all remember that if a greedy corporation that is beholden to profit and shareholders wants something, it's never for your good as the consumer no matter how they spin it.

What I don't understand is that if they're making record profits, as it sits with both digital and physical, why change it up to maximize greed? Just carry on being massively successful and keep both. Stupid.

@AdamNovice never got announced. I don't know why people are so mad anyways, if the comments are to be believed, the game looks like ***** and nobody wanted it anyway. So why does it matter, unless it's people having a childish reaction to not getting something?

Is it really that hard to understand? They had a previous direction under previous leadership, they're honoring the commitments previously made, and going in a new direction under new leadership going forwards.

@Rich33 if they no longer want to be in the console /game pass business then sure, I agree. The whole games on Ps thing is pushing their revenue stream aka customers right to Sony. If that's what they want then just scuttle the helix, announce they're going multiplatform and be done with it. If they want to have a console they need exclusives if everyone else does.

@Rich33 well I'm from the position that exclusives are stupid. I never got a playstation until recently with the whole multiplatform thing. If Sony wants exclusives then playstation users shouldn't be upset if Xbox wants to keep their stuff exclusive too. Either everyone hoards their games or they all share, my opinion doesn't change based on the logo of the company.

@Broosh it's a shame Sony didn't reciprocate when Xbox tried to break down the exclusivity barrier. Could have ended the console wars right then and there. Shame.

@cuttlefishjones didn't Sony pay to keep silent hill 2 remake off Xbox for a year? Let's not pretend it hadn't been swinging both ways.

@LordAinsley utopia for playstation players. If it was reciprocal it would have been true nirvana, but alas Sony refused to play nice. So here we are.

@Bez87 I am not arguing that Xbox has screwed the pooch to the pleasure of playstation owners. They do have some great formerly exclusive games though and disparaging their library because you don't like the company is just silly.

Most of those series you mentioned I've enjoyed all but a couple entries maybe. Xbox spending money for stuff is really no different than the stuff Playstation does too though, they just have more money to spend.

@Bez87 you lost all credibility to your statement when you tried to dismiss Forza. Literally the best racing game out there and the newest entry is being rated a perfect 10. Forza is the definitive racing game atm and does not appear to be slowing down.

@twitchtvpat I'm saying this as a staunch Xbox guy who hasn't owned a playstation since the og ps1. I'm going Ps next Gen, there's no reason to continue to support Xbox even though I prefer the interface and controller. I'm just losing out on games if all Xbox exclusives are gonna come to Ps with no reciprocal agreement. I backed the wrong horse and it's unfortunate, but true.

@twitchtvpat they can make them, but who's going to buy them if you get all exclusives on Ps and only some on Xbox. This move essentially says "don't buy our console, go buy a playstation"
