Vita needs much more than just one big tittle unnanounced yet as the already announced ones will not be enough to save it for this year. No idea about Grand Theft Auto, but for sure Skyrim would not be an option, it just barely runs at its minimum on 360 and PS3.
Long time ago there were rumours of having some Elder Scrolls chapters ported to Vita, I think it was Morrowind and its expansions. Probably just a dream, but that would be an incredible addition.
Problem with Vita games is and might be in the near future the lack of diversity to satisfy a larger user base, this will not change with 3 or 4 AAA+ titles of the same type. It is the main reason why my 3ds is getting dust most of the time, the only game that actually fits to my likes is the very old Ocarina of Time. And for the Vita the only one that I'm enjoying is Uncharted but luckily in the case of Vita this can be aleviated somehow with the current catalogue of PSP compatible games.
Vita is actually doing much better in EU and USA than in Japan, while overally its sales are rather poor everywhere. Hope it will get what the device deserves as it is the very best handled gaming platform to date.
Played the demo and well, I cannot see this game selling well. This demo is in the demo Vitas of many stores, but it leaves you thinking, ok, and this game is about what?
Yes, I have ran out of things to play with (Vita titles). Even if it is not as bad as with my 3DS (there is nothing I can play with it after a year even having many more titles than Vita), the fact is that these few games interesting enough can be finished in a pair of weekends and then what? ATM my Vita is more or less active mostly because of PSP games available through PSN.
Agree, PSV needs many extra more games, add the fact that some ones are marketing new games for the very wrong market. Little King Story 2, which Wii previous version had pretty bad results in Japan and pretty good (in comparison) in EU and USA has been released first in Japan with no release date for the rest of the world, and the result has been the again the very same as for the Wii previous version, pretty poor sales in Japan (as should have been expected).
Japan's market is always representative of Japan only. In Europe PSV is outselling the PSP by far (5 to 1), the same happens in USA. For some reason PSP is still pretty strong in Japan only. The difference is even more extreme when compared with 3DS. Looking at the numbers of last week of March, in Europe 3 3DS were sold for every 2 PSVita, while in Japan 10 3DS were sold for every single PSVita and in USA 2 3DS for every PSVita. Then you have top sellers as Skyrim with 1.4 millions sold in USA, another 1.4 in Europe and only 160k in Japan, something similar can be said about Mass Effect 3 and others. Japan is pretty different than the rest of the world.
This is a bit more than a rumour. They will sell its chemical product division, also Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi are joining all their mobile LCD screens magnufacturing operations. Hirai stated that his main strategy implies to sell all the business lines not related to their main activities while reinforcing lines related to videogames, smartphones and digital imaging.
Now that would be a really noticeable step forward based on raw quality software and not weird controllers or gadgets. But an open world is also defined by its visual range, if too close then the effect would be that of being in a confined environment. I pretty much doubt current PS3 will be able to do that.
It is my understanding that now PSN covers both, PS3 and Vita's games. Is Sonic 4 being PS3 exclusive? Is this something worth to indicate near the PSN tag?
Looking at this I remember 1980's Elite, similar concept of free space maraunding, but not focused only on combat. I think Elite's concept would work way better for open-space type games, combat, exploration, strategy and trading all in one.
Wii's Little King's Story Japan sales were way way lower than European or USA ones during three years in a row. Konami should take this into consideration and push the western localizations ASAP.
Even with an extense line-up, the only present heavy weight is Uncharted. Compared with all the movement you see for PS3 it seems that VITA is getting pretty frozen till this summer.
The predecesor of this game was a total blast on the Wii, the only "but" for me was the controls (hardly to aim accurately with the nunchuck). This can be only even better with the Vita.

Still trying to figure out what GR is about, but RBS will be in my Vita this weekend.
Re: Round Table - What We Expect From Sony At E3
Having Bethesda involved into something for Vita would be the very best news I might expect from E3.
Re: Rumour: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Slashing onto PS3, Vita
This will be an outstanding addition for the Vita, and if the game lasts 40 hours, much better than 20 for me.
Re: Super Hang-On Races onto PlayStation Network Next Week
as well as MSX classics, at the end most relevant MSX1 and 2 computers were Sony's Hit Bits, as well as many of the games for these systems.
Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Hardware Sinks, Vita Stinks
It is Japan, I guess the only place in the world where PS2 is outselling 360 ...

NA only?
Re: Lumines Producer: Major Vita Games on the Way
So while they have many major Vita games pending to be announced, Vita's sales go down in flames. If that's true, they better hurry up.
