Re: Watch This Bonkers Lollipop Chainsaw Launch Trailer

Magi

@Splat as a current owner of this game, I don't see much in the way of replay value unless you're an achievement hunter or want to stay on top of the leaderboards. I played last night for a few hours and I believe I'm about 3/5 of the way through it. Once I complete it, I'll probably replay a few of the stages to find those elusive collectible lollipop flavors, zombie pics, and cell phone messages from the family but after that my hopes lie with some sort of DLC to keep the fun going.

And OMFG Zombie Basketball had me RAGING last night, but where else could you play a game where you have to decapitate "x" number of zombie heads and toss them through a basketball hoop?

Re: Sony Promises PlayStation Vita Game Heaven Improvements

Magi

Is it just me or does Sony keep saying: We know we effed up at "big awesomesauce event xyz", but we'll do better next time. Then next time roles around and THEY END UP SAYING THE SAME DERN THING because they effed it up again.

I don't want continuous excuses Sony, I want you to deliver on your promises (the first time)

Re: Talking Point: Why Vita Criticisms Are Premature

Magi

PS1 support would go a long way in giving Vita owners additional games to play until more Vita games are released. From the outside looking in, this opportunity seems like low-hanging fruit. Personally, I've got FFVII, FFIX, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, and a few other downloaded games on my PS3 just screaming to be played on my Vita.

Re: Talking Point: Does Vita Really Need Online Multiplayer Games?

Magi

@Marcus09 Define "we". If it's you and a frog in your pocket, then I concede that "we" don't need a Vita. If you're lumping in the rest of everyone with "we", then you're dead-wrong. "I" need a Vita. I have a PS3. I have a 3DS too. Neither replace the Vita, which I have never dropped by the way (lol?). Portable game play, for me, is about the total package and while that certainly and unequivocally includes game play and "gaming on the go", it also includes a stellar graphical experience as well as other things that the Vita brings to the table (dual sticks especially).

Also, "best portable console", as you stated, is not entirely synonymous with "best selling portable console".

Re: Talking Point: Does Vita Really Need Online Multiplayer Games?

Magi

@Marcus09 Yes, I really need the Vita. Best portable/"personal" system ever, by miles, imho.

Lack of multiplayer was the single determining reason I returned Modnation Racers:Road Trip. If MK7 can do it, there is no reason why MR:RT shouldn't have been able to as well. I don't require multiplayer over 3G (despite owning a 3G model), but I do think the Vita needs a robust multiplayer system in its titles for it to succeed.

Re: New PS Vita Firmware Coming in April

Magi

Would love it if I could play my FFVII, FFIX, and Xenogears PS1 titles! Add the PS1 capability too, and let the downloading begin. Vagrant Story and many more would be a insta-downloads if this happens.

Re: Playable PS Vita Demo Units Drop into GameStop

Magi

I called 4 of the local Gamestops. Only 1 had it set up. There were about 6 demos total to play and I checked out Gravity Rush, the golf game, and Little Deviants. Sadly, I could only spend about 10 minutes with it as I was on my lunch break.

There are also some reports on teh interweb of some Gamestops only allowing people who have preordered the system to play with the demo unit.

Re: AT&T Changes 3G Data Plan Prices

Magi

Ugh, I already give AT&T $150ish a month. Even just $15 more makes me cringe. Strangely, I'm still not entirely convinced that I don't want the 3G version "just in case".

Re: Review: PlayStation Vita Hardware

Magi

Just stopped by GameStop over my lunch break. They had a Vita display with several games included. If the game display cases are size-acurate, then they seem to be very small. (which is probably an eco-good thing!)

Re: Review: PlayStation Vita Hardware

Magi

Great review Corbie. Between playing the Kingdoms of Amalur demo last night and waking up to read this review, I fear I may have had TOO much awesome in the past 8 hours!

Re: Grab a Serious Move Bargain This Thanksgiving

Magi

I just ordered one from their website last night. Free shipping too! Such a sweet deal. Considering the review scores of each game I'm pretty stoked to be able to play them both (when I can tear myself away from Skyrim that is). Must/Should I start with 1 and 2 in both series to fully appreciate both #3's?

Re: 18 New Vita Games to Be Revealed at Tokyo Games Show

Magi

The Vita needs a groovy RPG or two as release titles. Other than that, I'm impressed with the shear quantity of decent or better games that are being released with it. My time spent with my 3DS looks to drop significantly when the Vita is finally available for purchase in the States.

Re: Vita Launch Will Be "A Car Wreck" says UFC Trainer Dev

Magi

@Iz20XX me! I spent $750 on three 3DS consoles. (granted I got a bit of that back from the good folks at Best Buy). $300ish for a Vita isn't a worry. Plus, I'm already being screwed by AT&T so another 10 bucks a month (if that's what it is) isn't going to kill me. I'd rather have the capability and not need it than need the capability and not have it.
