Re: Konami 'Forgiven' for Dropping Metal Gear Solid Voice Lead in Fifth Game

While I was initially surprised at the time when it was announced Kiefer Sutherland would replace David Hayter, I didn't have any objections. At the end of the day, it's Kojima's game.

I felt there was a legitimate in-universe reason why Big Boss sounded different. Perhaps this was the voice Kojima always envisioned Big Boss to have in the first place. After all, Solidus Snake, who was closer to Big Boss in appearance, had a different voice to Snake's.

Anyway, who cares. Kiefer Sutherland was great albeit underutilised. I'm glad David Hayter finally and belatedly got over it. GZ and PP were great, and it's good Hayter's seen that for himself.

@themightyant Agreed. Kojima loves to do things differently. Doing things like putting the CODEC frequency for Meryl (IIRC) on the back of MGS1's actual jewel case in a meta moment of the game, or switching controller ports battling Psycho Mantis and the latter even commenting on any Konami save files on the player's memory card. I loved those little things.
