@TheNewButler actually there's already SSD on PC that fast. They just cost $250 for 1 TB and require PCIE-4 to hit those speeds and right now only the newest motherboards have pcie4
."Teraflops might be a useful measure of comparison in some ways, but ultimately it's a theoretical max speed"
I could say the same thing about the SSD speed. The difference is that I'd be right. You can check on PC gaming benchmarks and see that drive speed makes very little gameplay difference while those extra 2 TFLOPs are rather massive and will lead to much better sustained fps.
@Porco lol what? You do know that both AMD and Nvidia are releasing new hardware this year right? Leaks are implying the biggest leaps in power in years. If anything, thanks to these consoles, the new GPU will probably be much cheaper than expected and PC gamers will be able to "run circles around" console gamers for less money than expected.
But honestly, LOLL WUT? XBOX SERIES X performance showed it was about as good as a RTX 2080. Not a super, a regular. The PS5 is factually weaker despite what this random dev most people have never heard of wants to claim. So there's no way this "runs circles" around PCs.
Lastly, there's basically a 1% chance there's any real world difference between then 2.4 GB/s SSD on the XBOX and the 5.5 GB/s SSD on the PS5. Very unlikely.
