We've had four generations of Sony giving us awesome games, but they're pooping the bed with PS5. In my opinion (and maybe others feel the way I do) state of gaming across the board is absolutely appalling.
There is not one game - not one - that I can say I'm looking forward to or excited about. Nothing on the horizon that looks cool, interesting, epic, thoughtful - nothing.
Don't worry though, they're remastering Days Gone! -facedesk-
@ShogunRok My comment wasn't intended to impugn your review - in fact I haven't read it or watched the video. I was simply speaking to the general atmosphere of positivity among the mainstream review community, which seems to be at good odds with what early-access reviewers and trusted YouTubers have reported.
That said, I will check out your review after posting this.
I'm going to wait and see what the player consensus is. Fextralife's "The TRUTH about Dragon Age Veilguard" video was very eye opening and I'm going to wait for his review and others before jumping in.
I can't bring myself to play Spider-Man 2 more than 5-7 minutes without the desire to turn it off and play something else. This is especially disappointing because I played through both Spider-Man and Spider-Man Miles Morales twice.
At this point I'm a bit worn out on the gameplay and I find the writing and themes of "social justice" to be tiresome and boring.
@Korgon I really enjoyed Unity's co-op mode as well and the game as a whole is one of my favorite ACs to date.
As for AC: Shadows I'm still firmly in the 'we'll see' column, but I'd love to love this game. I've platinumed every main AC game to date with the exception of Black Flag (due to the multiplayer) and I'd like to continue the tradition.
@DennisReynolds Slow down there with the rolley eyes, smarty. I'm talking about race swapping in general. Also, the other poster is correct about Ubisoft having a Japanese man set as the protagonist before the current one.
@DennisReynolds I would argue that hate is the reason behind race swapping characters in the first place - not inclusion. It's hate under the guise of inclusivity and tolerance.
For me, it's not so much the $700.00 as it is the value proposition - what you're getting for that $700.00.
Were this the PS6, honestly, I'd preorder it with no hesitation. But, as far as PS5 Pro goes, I have not seen a single piece of footage, screenshot, or side-by-side comparison that made me think 'wow, that's an upgrade.' I thought Cerny's presentation was underwhelming and fell completely flat in this regard.
Again, we've seen nothing, game-wise, within the realm of that EPIC demo we saw before the generation began. That was what we were told our PS5's were capable of, and it was heavily implied that we'd one day get that on our PS5's. Hasn't come close to happening, and now they're trying to sell us a $700.00 PS5 Pro for semi-moderate to moderate resolution and framerate gains?
That EPIC presentation for PS5 hasn't even come close to being realized and yet they're releasing a PS5 Pro.
If I don't see something equal to what was shown with that EPIC presentation on a standard PS5, then to me, this will read like overpromised, power-of-the-cloud nonsense by Sony.
Trying to talk up resolution and framerate gains with side-by-sides of The Last of Us Part II, R&C just fell flat for me, and I'm sure many others.
I'm not saying it's not worth its price and that it doesn't have value, but how bland was that demonstration with Cerny? He just couldn't lift the PS5 Pro high enough.
I've had it preordered for weeks and I can't wait to get into it. The pre-installed AstroBot still makes the best case for the DualSense, so I'm looking forward to seeing if this lives up to or surpasses that.
These games are a celebration of gaming - specifically PlayStation gaming.

Re: 4 Massive PS5, PS4 Games Are At Their Lowest Prices Ever on PS Store
@nessisonett I think both Jedi games are quite solid, and the technical stuff wasn't so off-putting as to... put me off of them.
The Metroidvania platforming elements are nicely combined with your traversal powers and it's fun getting around and solving environmental puzzles.
I could definitely go for a third, so I'm hoping for it.

Gaming needs a renaissance, and quickly.
Re: PS Plus Copies of Days Gone Won't Offer Cheap $10 Upgrade to New PS5 Version
Sony stinks now.
If any game doesn't need a remaster - it's this. Days Gone was updated for PS5 consoles and looks incredible on anything you run it on.
Yeah, Sony's lost the plot. So, so, sad what's happening to gaming.
Re: PlayStation Fans Could've Had Another Resistance Game, But Sony Said No
Because of course they did.
Nobody wanted Resistance - they wanted Concord.
Re: Reaction: Sony's Live Service Push Has Been a Disaster of Utterly Insane Proportions
@Phelaidar Hope: They will see that they've failed and use that failure as a lesson.
Reality: They fail again and it's more disastrous than the previous failure.
Re: Reaction: Sony's Live Service Push Has Been a Disaster of Utterly Insane Proportions
The video games industry:
Doing EVERYTHING except what the customers want.
Let Sony crash and burn.
Re: Round Up: PS5 Pro Reviews Love New Tech and Its Glimpse of PS6 Potential
Mine is arriving to today, so I'm pleasantly surprised given the fact that I preordered it from PSDirect just a few days ago.
Had an Amazon preorder that I cancelled.
Anyway, can't wait.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Lays the Foundation for a New Modern-Day Narrative
Layla Hassan and the modern narrative aren't intimidating - they are downright boring.

Maybe one day I'll be able to complete it.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?
I own it, but I'm going to wait for Pro support to play it. Meanwhile, I have a pretty good pile of games to play.
Re: PS5 Pro, 30th Anniversary Consoles Now Available at More Retailers
Gave in and preordered the Pro on Amazon this morning. Will begin FF Rebirth as soon as it arrives.

Re: Insider Report Adds Context to Assassin's Creed Shadows' Big Delay
@Jebeye I found the tankiness and pure size of Yasuke to be comical as well.
This giant 'outsider' leisurely walking around decimating the smaller Japanese folk looked absolutely silly.

LMAO @ this whole take.
You are absolutely spot on with all of it.
Re: Sony's Live Service Push 'No Joke', A Lot of People Working on Horizon Online
@jrt87
The graphics and presentation were absolutely next-level, but I didn't much care for the so-so story.
Really didn't love the missions that required melee combos.
Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?
So far, in the U.S, (from what I've observed) the PS5 Pro has been continuously available since it was made available for pre-order.
I don't think this console will ever be hard to acquire for those who want one.
Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?
@CyborgToaster Right.

I'm just not sold as of now.
Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?
@frankmcma It'll likely be easy to pre-order and then find after launch. Though popular, this isn't the PS6.
I suspect Sony has plenty of these consoles ready in anticipation of high demand.

Re: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (PS5) - Capcom Classic Still Shines 18 Years Later
@JB_Whiting No, not really. That's not the point.
The point is that it changes the original work to placate someone and cater to their views. That shouldn't happen.
Remaster the visuals and refine what needs refining technically, but removing gameplay goes too far.
Re: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (PS5) - Capcom Classic Still Shines 18 Years Later
@DeepEyes This is indeed censorship and it only gets worse the more people excuse it.
Allowing the censoring of 'small' detail opens the door to larger, more troubling censorship.

Mark Cerny's 'magic' just doesn't fly here.
Trying to talk up resolution and framerate gains with side-by-sides of The Last of Us Part II, R&C just fell flat for me, and I'm sure many others.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Black Myth: Wukong?
It's a beautiful game with an engaging story and great combat. I plan on reading the source material upon completion.
As of now I'm a 9. Could go higher or lower, but I really don't see it going lower.
Just a great game.
