@Banjo- Very successful? They underperformed both in sales numbers and in engagement numbers. Heck Obsidian has put the Outer Worlds series on ice for now.
@DennisReynolds Why do people keep saying this 15 percent when they know it's not the whole truth? Ghosts of Yotei had 23 percent that bought physical for example and Resident Evil nine kept selling out of physical copies it was so popular.
You see the 15 percent and don't factor in that lots of small indy stuff is digital only, and it's all lumped together.
Now I have 0ver 100 digital games and don't give a damn about discs, but I do care about the finer details when people say things.
@get2sammyb I think it would be best for both companies to focus on one or maybe two big AAA games a year and leave the rest of the year for other developers to fight it out.
A lot of games are underperforming lately and part of it is too many games and not enough time along with the whole cost of living crisis. Just my opinion I know, but I think fewer is more in game development.
It's not that Sony are killing physical that really annoys me it forces me to have even less options. Physical games are often cheaper and Sony rarely puts their games on sale for a decent discount.
Steam at least sells games cheaply often and has more of a selection. Plus I can buy on GOG if I wanted to. And I hate PC gaming, so I don't like saying that lol.
@get2sammyb I know I would have double-dipped. Now I'll be even more stingy and only buy games years after for a steep discount on PSN and if a game doesn't become cheap then I won't get it. Unless it's my two favourite series Resident Evil and Elder Scrolls. Those I have to buy.
I just wish I could refund or sell digital games. I have spent over a hundred dollars on a game and I hated it yet because it's digital I can't do a damn thing with it. The more time passes the less choices we get.
@ShogunRok I tend to agree. All this uncertainty and pricing casuals out of owning the next consoles is going to hurt all three console manufactures. I know they don't exactly want to put a 1500 AUD console out in this environment, but they will, and it will hurt sales I think. Which in turn hurts developers worse because games won't sell and studios close.
Sounds like they will eventually also take away the ability to download games in your library even. It costs money to keep this stuff up so I can see why they want to get rid of it but still it's a shame.
I wish I could play my PS3 games on my PS5. So many good games, but I can't stomach that controller or console anymore.

All good points that I agree with Sammy. Especially the refund policy.
