So now ive got two examples- but that small a pool shouldnt really entice anyone into buying a remaster on the vague hope that at some time in the future the developers maybe might possibly bargain to try and get a sequel out. I still feel the purchase should be for the game and only the quality of that specific game and not as "merch" to fund the team. Or else something rather dangerous happens and remasters start to look like a very easy way to make money off of expectations

Sony makes a revision to a console with barely any titles on it to speak of that people want to play and somehow its CDPR that has their image marred for not continuing to iterate on a game they already spent 4 years tinkering with just because Sony didnt make the console with those specs to begin with? Im fully aware of why people choose to go with playstation but at this point if people are begging devs everyday to "make the game better for free because i bought a new console" you have to wonder what the heck the industry is actually doing at this point

Why do so many people still cling to the desperate hope that preordering remasters is going to in any way influence the IP? Despite likely being unable to name a single time where remaster sales of an old game was said to have influenced a sequel.

@twitchtvpat Do you understand the concept of labour and reaources? If you sell a car only to build the exact same car but slightly prettier even if you have the money you have wasted time and materials. It would bave benefitted art and gaming in general to focus on new experience than to squeeze money out of people in a new generation for "it looks better".

@LifeGirl Thats not really how this works at all. You cant point at Concord and say "Look, people dont like new things!". People like good things. Dont try to spin a colossal failure as the audiences fault in "If you dont buy anything new you dont deserve anything new". How about Sony make good games first,

@dskatter thats not really how it work, you cant admonish Dragon's Dogma for MTX then praise Helldivers for habing them but "not shoving it in your face" just because you enjoy the game more. Helldivers MTX is FAR more visible than DD2 and im genuinely confused why you think it isnt
