Re: PS5 Early Access Pre-Orders Truly Are Getting Out of Hand

I think we dont consciously as gamers realize sometimes how much game development is. That tidbit along with the fact that your game may not make a profit in this climate would lead any developer to make deals with the companies. Alan wake 2 was incredible and didn't sell nearly as many copies as I feel it should have based on estimates shared. Simply making good games doesnt guarantee success anymore sadly so if a company offers you money for some exclusive deal, that incentive holds more power now.

On Sony's side of things, why not do this. They are a company trying to make their console more appealing than the next. This is strategy at the end of the day. I wouldn't like it really if xbox dod this deal since I'm a playstation gamer, but I would understand that it is simply strategy and only two days early access. A lot of people get 4 to 7 days early access with early physical copies and pay the same amount as ys digital owners but are able to trade their game in. There are different advantages across the industry at different points in time so I feel this is really a non-issue when you really consider the reasoning behind it and volatile state of the industry now.
