@LiamSmith016 I’ve owned every model of the PS5. Every one of them has been setup in the same position. My Pro runs quieter and I’m happy about it.
I mentioned on another thread on this website that my PS5s were obnoxiously loud. I was told that I must have had a faulty model, twice bad luck? Also that I must be doing something wrong because other peoples weren’t loud, therefore it was my fault.
I’m just happier now with my PS5. It’s become my primary console and the Xbox has been sold. 🙂
@Medic_alert I’ve owned two PS5s, one at launch and the most recent bought in February of this year. Both have been obnoxiously loud compared to my Xbox Series X.
I play a lot of games digitally as well, no disc.
I don’t believe I’ve been that unlucky, twice. It’s a design flaw as far as I’m concerned.
So, it seems as if EA have listened to career mode criticisms. I'm actually interested in these RPG elements... however, having played FIFA 22 via Game Pass recently, I'm not sure if these improvements will help in making me enjoy the actual gameplay.
FIFA's player movement, lack of goal feel etc., keeps me from buying it.
This year might be the year I relent, since eFootball is still a complete ***** show.
@Flaming_Kaiser That is a valid point, been proven time and time again that games are carved up and mechanics deliberately manipulated in order to coerce buying stuff to save time.
Again, I can hope that Konami hit the sweet spot with eFootball.
Anyone remember what that new alternative is that is in development? UCL football, or something like that?
@theMEGAniggle I think it’s likely that they have one eye on what Konami are doing. I’d expect them to follow suit, think how much MORE money they’d get, and how many more players they’d get if FIFA did go free-to-play?
If little Timmy didn’t have to save pocket money, or beg his parents to buy FIFA and could download it day one!
Remove the £60 to £70 entry fee, and the die-hards will think they’re saving money, whilst pilling that ‘saved’ money, and more, into FUT packs.
@Flaming_Kaiser usually I’d agree with you, but free-to-play seems to suit yearly release type games. The incremental updates each year do not justify £60 to £70, and more for ***** legendary editions, or whatever. Launch the game free, make money with micro-transactions, for those that want to indulge in their gambling addiction, and then sell additional game modes, like master league, at a fair price.
Of course, I’m probably being way too optimistic, and Konami might completely ***** the bed. But I can hope.
@Northern_munkey Not much, mate. It’s still pretty much a demo. I don’t think they’ll have any meaningful content available till the start of the new season. If I was in charge, that’s the date I’d be pushing for to actually have something together to challenge EA Football Gambling Simulator, or whatever they decide to call it once the FIFA licence expires.
Take it for what it is, a sign of intent. I think once it gets into full flow, we’ll be back to the FIFA vs PES back and forth like the good old days!
Gave it a going over in my lunch hour yesterday, I really had a lot of fun playing it.
I believe in the mission, free-to-play is the way forward. I’m happy to pay £10 to £20 for edit mode and master league and never play the awful online *****.
I’m amazed that EA can release the same game every year, and the same people pre-order it, and then spend months moaning about it. Crazy.
@Vettechy77 I gave it an hour this morning before work… feels like I’ve played it all before. The constant chatter between the characters was a bit irritating. Might give it another chance at the weekend, but at the moment, not in a rush to boot it up again.
Should be no surprise here with this latest AAA publisher tactic. Get the reviews and metacritic scores established, then slowly pour in the missing ingredient, micro-transactions!
Used a grand total of f*&k all of these new features. Why on earth watching someone else play a game, whilst I'm playing a game is a good thing, I'll never know.
The other features I might consider using in the future, but, probably not.
@Aslanmagic I’m fairly confident that those rest mode issues were over stated by the gaming press based on a few high profile reported incidents.
As soon as you connect your PS5 to an internet connection it will download the latest OS version anyway and if that rest mode issue was as wide spread as the gaming press would have you believe, I’m confident it’s been patched. (No evidence to back that up though)
@Bingbongboyo I built a RetroPie and use an old wired Xbox 360 controller. Don’t do it though, your childhood memories will be crushed. Always move forwards, never backwards.

Re: PS Plus Members Are Upgrading to Higher Tiers on PS5, PS4
I won’t be bothering with it again. Sick of subscriptions in general now.
And… after that outage recently, I’m going back to physical discs.

Re: Review: PS5 Pro - An Impressive Yet Inconsistent Upgrade
Best thing for me so far… it runs a lot quieter than my slim did.
Re: Indiana Jones Looks Like an Adventure Worth Waiting for on PS5
The news that this was being launched on PlayStation was the final nail in the coffin for my Xbox Series X.
I'm all in on PlayStation now, Xbox is clearly going to become a publisher and little else.
I'm done.
Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?
@zancoooo of course, it’s my fault, twice. Should have considered that.

Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?
I’d consider buying one, if one of the benefits was that it ran quieter!
I’ve been using my PS5 more recently and the noise it makes drives me mental. Have to play with headphones on to cancel it out.
Anything in the marketing material about decibel levels?
Re: LEGO Fortnite May Be the Most Impressive PS5, PS4 You're Not Playing
But it’s just a grind fest.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing The Witcher 3's PS5 Upgrade?
@optic_efun11 saw that a little while after I posted. Thanks for responding.
Looks like I need to fire up the series x later.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing The Witcher 3's PS5 Upgrade?
I’m yet to fire this up. Does anyone know if an Xbox save is transferrable to GOG.com, then playable on the PlayStation version?
Re: FIFA 23 Names Benzema, Mbappé, De Bruyne, and Lewandowski Its Highest Rated Players
@thefourfoldroot1 brilliant!

Re: eFootball's Hugely Anticipated Master League Will Not Launch Until 2023
Konami should have just put out roster updates, and put this eFootball idea back a year or two till it had more feature parity.
Imagine working for Konami on this game? The pressure and fan hate would be enough for me to quit without giving notice.
Re: British Gas Blasted for Advising Customers to Turn Off Consoles Like PS5, PS4
@Uncharted2007 Amen.
Re: Hands On: eFootball PS5, PS4 Feels Better Than FIFA 22 After Major Update
@Grumblevolcano would make sense to make those changes then. I can imagine the EA PR spin, and ***** already.

Competition is always good for the consumer!

Re: Best Single Player Games on PS5
@Vettechy77 seems like we’re switching game tastes! I’m just starting to get into Soulsborne games 😄 Thanks for the heads up on the chatter!

Re: Best Single Player Games on PS5
Useful list, my interest is peaked in Guardians of the Galaxy, I keep reading good things about it.
Re: Reaction: Sony's Biggest Problem Is Consumer Relations
If I wasn't enjoying Ghosts of Tsushima right now, my PS5 wouldn't get turned on.
Sony is really resting on its laurels from the brand loyalty built during the PS4 peak.
Re: Elden Ring's PS5, PS4 Overview Trailer Is the Extra Hype Your Weekend Needs
I’m going to pull the trigger on this one, it contains some new gameplay mechanics that make it appealing over other Dark Soulsesque games.
Re: Feature: PS5 Report Card - How Is It After One Year?
@hbkay same here, I update it when there are firmware updates but not much else.
Re: Poll: Does Sony Need a Big PS5 Showcase This Summer?
They need something because my interest in the PS5 is seriously waining. I haven’t turned mine on for months.
Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About PS4 Exclusives Being Ported to PC?
Here’s an idea, how about no platform exclusives?! It’s an anti consumer practise and I hate it.
Re: Persona 5 Royal Was the Highest Rated Game of 2020 on Metacritic
@Gatatog @playstation1995 just picked up a copy on eBay for less than £12, can’t grumble at that.
I’ll give it a go.
Re: Persona 5 Royal Was the Highest Rated Game of 2020 on Metacritic
What’s the difference between Persona 5 & P5 Royal?
I’m new to the series and I’m thinking of playing Persona 5 since I got it with that PS+ collections, or whatever it’s called.
What would I be missing by not playing the ‘Royal’ version?

@Bingbongboyo I tried to play SWOS recently via emulation. How the fu*k I used to play, and be good at that game is beyond me. It’s so hard now.
Re: Reaction: Sony's New PS Store Is Actively Preventing Fans from Spending Money
@Aslanmagic mines always in rest mode, not has an issue with it.
Re: FIFA 21 PS5 Upgrade Available Now, Looks Awesome
@solocapers preach, brother! PES has always been a better game.
