I will still argue that EA's Battlefront 2 ended up being the best Star Wars game ever made. It did not start that way, and took time to reach that status. But the way it is today, no other game feels more like playing the Star Wars films.
I bought this and haven't regretted it. Tons of fun to pass around the controller with a group of friends. Ultra-Violence feels like the perfect difficulty setting. Nice challenge, but not so bad that I am repeating the same combat over and over. I really love the parrying system, and the more grounded combat. I'm not too keen on how Eternal had me jumping around while aiming. This feels just as strategic, without the frantic pace of Eternal.
I genuinely only care about playing Halo. It's the only game series I miss since I switched from Xbox to PlayStation during the PS4 era. If the Master Chief Collection does get ported over this year I would be over the moon. That and Doom: The Dark Ages would hold me over for the rest of the year.
I've put in almost 1000 hours into CIV VI on PS4. Time to beat that records with VII on PS5! I am just hoping they add hotseat multiplayer in the coming year. My partner and I love to pass the controller and play together.
It really is a well-made game. It feels great to play, the character design is spot-on, and the level design is engaging and invites strategic planning. The sheer number of characters and the depth of those character is really staggering. And having lightning-fast matchmaking and almost zero networking issues makes the game a joy to play. I'm almost willing to pay for a skin as a thank-you to the devs for their hard work.
I am tempted to buy the Castlevania Dominus Collection, but I realized I never beat the games in the Advance Collection first. So I'll be finishing Harmony of Dissonance and then jumping into Aria of Sorrow over the weekend.
@thefourfoldroot1 if games are ultimately made to be fun, and players are having a good time with these games, then I don't see the problem. Just because they aren't games that you enjoy doesn't mean that they aren't games, and belong in a sperate industry.
