Re: Starfield Has a Serious Crashing Issue on PS5, PS5 Pro

Chris250MY

I’ve had freezes happen a number of times when I was in the wild on Jemison, scanning everything to 100% the planet survey. I’m playing on 60 fps, performance mode PS5 Pro. The game never ‘crashed’ back to home to allow me to submit a crash report. The image just remained stuck in a frozen state. I turned off the PSSR setting and turned off vsync. So far, I’ve not had any other crashes over the last 8-10hrs I played the last couple of days. I’ve been starting to build outposts and thankfully no crashes there!

Re: Poll: Do You Think PS5 Can Outsell PS4 with Its New Price Point?

Chris250MY

I think it’s less likely to, but not impossible. As many have noted GTA 6 will certainly provide a bump in sales, but with the global economy as it is, and all the unpredictable actions of world leaders who knows how things will pan out in a year or two from now. RAM, SSDs and soaring oil prices could be around much longer than we expect. On top of that, job insecurity with the rise of AI and continual corporate greed (at unprecedented levels), definitely is putting pressure on people’s spending habits. I’m glad I got my PS5 Pro when it launched and given current prices I couldn’t justify spending that much for it now. If we start seeing millions out of work globally because of AI or other “efficiency” savings made by corporate execs, buying that PS5 will definitely be at the bottom of peoples priorities.

Re: Starfield's PS5 Release Seems Practically Inevitable at This Point

I put over 200 hours into the game on PC. The main story wasn’t that engaging and for most of the time I just explored different systems whilst building a better ship. By the end of my time I had a beast of a ship, but the procedural copy/paste planets got boring and the loading screens, whilst fast, did get tiresome and ultimately broke the immersion. Visually I thought it looked great, they definitely nailed their intended ascetic. Building bases on remote worlds was fun too. I had some crazy mining operations with 100s of storage containers stacked sky high. Combat I think was reasonably fluid, and certainly one of Bethesda’s better iterations. Overall it’s a 6, maybe 7 out of 10 experience. Not sure I would call it legendary…

Re: Opinion: Crimson Desert Could Be PS5 Game of the Year, or a Total Mess

Chris250MY

I think the game certainly has the potential to be an amazing experience and perhaps a GOTY. From what I’ve seen from preview videos, performance on PS5 Pro looks excellent. Puzzles are actual puzzles, world building looks amazing too. My biggest concern is what many of the previews noted about complex and sometimes convoluted controls for pulling off the fancy moves. Guess I’ll find out in a weeks time!

Re: Sony Makes Shocking Decision to Shut Down Bluepoint Games

Terrible news. Such a talented studio who made the best remakes/remasters around. Demons Souls on PS5 is fantastic and one of the best showcases of a remake done right. Typical corporate mismanagement. Like every big company the top execs take little to no ownership over their mistakes… instead get rid of the actual people who know how to do the best work. And Hulst will walk away with a bigger bonus for saving expenditure no doubt in 2026.

Re: Call of Duty Continues to Handle PS5 Trophies in the Worst Way Possible

Chris250MY

Exactly. I really dislike when single player experiences at launch are then weeks or months later, given some pointless NG+ extreme hard mode trophy set.. or worse yet shoehorned in random multiplayer mode. I'm looking at you Ghost of Tsushima (and many others). That was a fantastic single player campaign which I platinumed and sat at 100% until the pointless multiplayer came out. Don't get me wrong, it's great if others enjoy that stuff, but for the love of god, why can't it just be a separate trophy list if you want to play the multiplayer mode.
