I have no problem with the graphics, I do find them a bit "generic" but that's to be expected, it lacks something that I can't quite pinpoint. What I do find unsettlig is the motions, it looks quite janky, like a game made in Unity or even Dreams, where the stock engine gives everything this robotic lifeless motion. The way he leans into trees or stars walking looks awful.
I have both GP and PS+ and without a doubt I've been getting a lot more value from the former. PS+ has either really old stuff I've already bought on deep sale, ancient first party titles or stuff that's either coming or has already left GP.
Save for Inscryption there has been nothing added to the service that has interested me, I've only played a handful of titles that came with the service initially (the main one being shadow warrior 3, which made the leap to GP anyway).
Was thinking about letting my sub lapse in december, this sealed the deal.
@thefourfoldroot well, first: 2023 is an entire year. It's quite different to release something in February than to release in October (and you bet a game as big as Spidey 2 is not going to be early). But let's take 2023 out of the equation for the sake of discussion.
The show would have been a success if they at least showed one or two games that we hadn't seen before. Something new, something that's not necessarily huge, maybe on the scale of Gravity Rush, but that showed promise. My big problem is that all the new stuff were just logos. It's a hype tactic and nothing else. Jim Ryan started this very showcase saying something like "let's look at new games" and 99% of the show was simply not that. They not only set expectations with their silence, but they started this very presentation saying new games were to be announced. The announcements were a couple of names with no gameplay.
And on the topic of third parties: of course a lot will come out, but tell me that anything other than Eve or Forspoken packed a punch. Ghostwire still has no release date. Most their parties shown are multiplatform (hell, ghostwire and probably deathloop are even coming to game pass), third parties were not the main event and again, few surprises there.
@Waffles12415 If any other company stepped up to an e3 stage and talked only about things that you already knew about you'd be complaining too, but it's Sony so they get a pass right? It's not "we have heard of this before, so it's bad", it's "sony's first party release schedule was already barren before this and they clearly had nothing to show for the immediate future". Of course they are not going to announce 75 games out of the blue, but we know absolutely nothing of what's coming out after MARCH. Gow maybe? and that's it. We are looking forward to one game in the entire year after march. wow.
It's also funny that you use Wolverine as an example. The one game I think should not have been shown. Does nobody remember that streak of like 3 E3s where they showed Spiderman?
@thefourfoldroot What like nintendo did with metroid dread? Did that not happen? Not announcing anything coming after march is absolutely worrysome. I came out of this showcase without any clear idea of ANYTHING coming out a year from now. Absolutely nothing. Is GoW coming out by then? Who the hell knows! I'm not expecting that every single title showed is a new game, but come on. There was nothing if not what we were already expecting, and what we were NOT expecting is YEARS away. That's the problem: this showcase changes nothing. You came out of it with the exact same information you came into it, except for games that don't even have gameplay to show. The first party part was the only strong one, gow could have instead recieved a horizon style exclusive showcase and the other 2 marvel games were cgi pap.
In 40 Minutes they showed:
Knights of the Old Republic - A logo for a game maybe 3 years away.
Gran Turismo 7 - We knew about it
Rainbow 6: Extraction - We knew about it
Project Eve - Give you that one. ONE suprise so far.
Forspoken - We knew about it
Wolverine - A logo for a game maybe 3 years away.
Spider-Man 2 - We knew about it
Ghostwire Tokyo - We knew about it
Alan Wake - We knew about it.
Vampire: Blood Hunt - A FTP battle royale that will die in 2 months
Guardians of the Galaxy - We knew about it.
Uncharted Remasters - Old games. Only good news for PC users
God of War - We knew about it.
@fR_eeBritney of course there's absolutely nothing for wolverine, I assume it's coming even after spiderman 2. I love comics, and these 2 games were by FAR the best part for me, but one was inevitable and the other is years down the line.
They either showed things that are not coming out for several years (kotor, wolverine) or 3rd party things we already knew were coming out. There was almost nothing new, so what are we supposed to look forward to bewteen march 2022 and maybe mid-to-late 2023 that we already don't know about? We already knew about GoW and GT7 (no date still btw), uncharted is just going to be a port and another greedy paid upgrade, we knew about forspoken, we knew about guardians of the galaxy, spiderman was inevitable. What are we left with? Wolverine in 3 years' time at the very least? Is this it after a year of not saying anything but "sure we have a lot of first party games lined up"?
@RedShirtRod is on point here. Agree with the extra $10 or not (I certainly don't, but that's another issue), PS4 owners were told their upgrade was to be more costly than necessary for absolutely no reason. Sony was just trying to see if they could get away with overcharging consumers.
I love hitman, but II came out years ago (it's gone on sale for faaar less than the cost of ps plus this month) and the worst of it is III came out like 8-9 months ago. Not regretting cancelling auto-renew at all. Well, back to gamepass I guess.

HATE to be that guy, but the short story is from an argentinian author, not a spanish one.

And of course we got the billionth trailer for Deathloop, a game that in a year will be on gamepass. What a garbage show
