@Veritas7Ax Yep, I love 3. I still play it on my PS2 regularly and it's probably the game I go back to on my PS2 most often. Other than Timesplitters series multiplayer over the LAN with my nephew and mates. That's a ton of fun!
The trouble is there's precedent from the breach in the 2011 and the 2014 Sony Picture hack. It should be concerning to everyone that Sony management are being intentionally vague by claiming an 'operational issue'. It implies, at best, that Sony has not learned from previous breaches by informing their customers and, at worst, they are intentionally misleading their customers.
Keep an eye on your finances and change your passwords.
Reference from Wiki: "In December 2014, Sony requested that the media stop covering the hack. Sony also threatened legal action if the media did not comply. Sony threatened legal action against Twitter if it did not suspend accounts of people who posted the hacked material."
Digital Foundry previews like the one shown in the video are an indispensable resource for people who play with their nose pressed up against the screen.
@Titntin Massively disagree, mate. You just have to look at the NES from the 80's and collectors who want complete collections. You do you though. We shall see in 20 years. I risk nothing buying physical. All digital risks everything.
Digital only from a company like Sony is an absurd proposition. That's a lot of people setting themselves up to losing access to their games in 20 years time. Sure, people will say "who cares about 20 years time" but nostalgia to times gone past is a powerful thing. Physical games will have value to collectors. Physical can be seen as an investment when digital cannot. Smart people buy physical. I am happy most buy digital as it increases the value of my physical collection in the long term. They'll be the ones begging me to sell later for silly money.
Can't help but feel the £700 price tag is an early adopters tax. The price will come down. It's only a matter of time. Until then, I will continue to play my launch day PS5 and play on PC. I am well covered to play any games I want to. My steam library is huge and there hasn't been a wealth of PS5 games coming out on PS5 that I actually want to play. If Sony's plan was to make me want to get a PS5 Pro on launch day; they have failed spectacularly.
@OldGamer999 That really depends. We don't know how much stock was available for the disc drive when Pro was announced. Many people already had a PS5 before the slim was released November last year. Sony wouldn't have supplied drives 1 for 1 of every console sold. There will be a large number of people who wouldn't have bought the drive for their slim console. Sticking to all digital (heretics!). While I agree there has been a surge of people who are pre-purchasing the drive for the Pro console. I do not think there was huge stocks of these drives sitting in a distributor's warehouse waiting for retailers to order them. Sony would have thought about scalability.
@Medic_alert It will be the developers. You can't force consumers to buy your product. Let's hope this house of cards all comes crashing down and the consumer can get back to some sort of normality.
@blah01 My ethernet network card connects instantly. Maybe a fault or maybe your router DHCP taking a while to assign ip address? I have a static address assigned to my PS5 on the router.
@Pranwell Oh, you'll def be able to pick one up at launch. You prob won't even have to pre-order lol These things are going to be stuck on shelves for a while and a price drop and incentives to buy one will come soon after.
@DaniPooo I remember people saying the same about PSVR2. You can certainly build a PC that can play games at PS5 quality for less than £700. A PC can do significantly more than a PS5 too. The games on steam are cheaper too. Mouse and keyboards do not get stick drift either.
@Waitinonpsvr2 To change the potentiometers you need to strip the controller down and de-solder and solder. I have done that. Cost me £2. I'm not afraid to fix my own equipment. They both work fine now.
@alex8329 No, 1 controller that developed stick drift twice which I fixed myself. Hall effect sticks would be the way to go. They won't do that as they are making money hand over fist by people buying new ones.
@Waitinonpsvr2 I live in a pet and smoke free house. I have had 2 controllers since launch. One of them developed stick drift. I have replaced the cheap potentiometers with better quality ones. The problem arises from the cheap/stingy amount of graphite conductive paint they have applied to the potentiometers. I never had any problems with controllers since 1991. Just these.
@TomasVrboda When I tried to play through it that way, it crashed on my PS5. A couple of levels worked okay but the rest felt fragile until the inevitable crash. It was easier to just play on my PS2 through component cables
Worse score than Concord? It may be seen by some as a tech demo, launched alongside the PS2, but it has objectively stood the test of time compared to the aforementioned game. Push Square reviews are incredibly confusing.
Quite the scathing write up from Push Square who 10 days ago wrote "Concord - Live Service Debut Beats the Hate with Stellar Presentation and Good Gameplay" and gave the game 7/10.
SNAFU doesn't make sense in the first paragraph especially when you prefix it with 'unfortunate' . SNAFU means that the situation is bad, but that this is a normal state of affairs. Clearly, the situation here isn't normal. That's why Push Square is reporting on it.
@Mortal Yep, that's what I did! I have no interest in Astrobot. I played the games but don't have an encyclopaedic knowledge of it. I worked out in past quizzes that was what people were doing. So I thought I would try and run the race too. It worked! Hopefully, everyone next week will do the same and we can then ditch the "leader board" and go back to just having a fun quiz. It's a little like trophies/achievements. Some people have begun to look past the quality and fun of playing a game just to hunt trophies for some kind of misguided social status.
I don't buy games on day one anymore. I used to years ago when a AAA was about £30 or £40. I'm glad people buy day one though as they are subsidising my purchase and funding any DLC that will come later.
Don't know why they even bothered with Stars. If they don't want to reward users then why even introduce the system in the first place? Also what about the month or so lost when the system went down? Did that count towards a month? The whole system seems like a game of move the goal posts and if you're an average PS purchaser and lucky you may get a discount. Whales are the ones who benefit most from the system.
Not bothered by trophies. I was hoping Future Perfect would have online multiplayer enabled but from what I can gather, this is not the case. That would have been an instant buy from me. I'll stick with the original PS2 versions of TS2 and Future Perfect over LAN with my nephew.
They aren't bad. I will add to my account. They are there if I do want to play them, so long as I am on essential. I used to be on Premium but have recently moved down to the lowest tier for the multiplayer and access to the games we have been given on PS+ since 2010. Many of which are not available on the higher tiers. PS+ 'Premium' and 'Extra' catalogue games will always be there. No need to be subscribed to Premium or Extra for long periods. I wasn't playing many of the games on the premium tier for the 2 years I had it for.
I guess this is one of those games that will not be re-released/backwards compatible in future generations due to short sighted music licensing problems?
@J2theEzzo Knowing modern business practises, it will still be £60 (or $/euro equivalent) but no added games. With a steady creeping price increase once a year.
Wouldn't be surprised if they take away these free games soon anyway. The more people whinge about the games each month not being to their personal expectation, the more likely they make the lowest tier just for online play and cloud saves only.
Ubisoft are out of original ideas. "Assassin's Creed games [to] come out more regularly"... what does this mean? It feels like there has been one Assassin's Creed game every year since the first. The series lost all it's shine after Black Flag and even then it felt long in the tooth. I see the name and roll my eyes these days. The series should go on a 10 year hiatus.
Who guessed this would happen!? The price point has been all wrong since the beginning. Now it will be consigned to the loooong list of products Sony abandoned. Might pick it up cheap at CEX.
Absolutely brilliant game, made by the people who made 007 Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and often considered their spiritual successor. As a launch title, this was my first PS2 game and experience with PS2. The game doesn't have a campaign as such but instead has a number of speed running levels with different challenges and difficulties. This game was all about the couch multiplayer. 4 player couch multiplayer with friends was especially fun. Great soundtrack too! The music for the Chinese Restaurant level is ingrained into my memory. That level and song made it into all three games, it was that good. It would be nice to have online multiplayer added in but that sadly will not happen. Still play my original copy from time to time on the same PS2 with the multi-tap adapter.
@jorel262 I don't own those unfortunately but 'The Sly Trilogy' on PS3 at CEX is £60. I have Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time though and I think that was given away with PS Plus back in the PS3 days
Did a comparison of the PS3 version of Tomb Raider Legend and this PS2 version on PS5. The PS3 version which comes with TR: Anniversary and TR: Underworld, looks better (without what looks like Vaseline smeared over it) and also includes trophies. It was cheaper and came in a box which you can put on a shelf when not in use, as well as including a manual and disc meaning I didn't even need to connect to the internet to play.
Never bought GTA V. I played through the single player via this PS+ promotion. No interest in the online portion of the game or paying for micro transactions. Glad I played it. It was great. No need to buy it now. Maybe if I see it for a quid at a car boot or something.
I wonder if Helldivers 3 will be console exclusive for a year or so first now. To sell the console and then go over to PC when the sales dry up a bit on the console side.

It's peripheral that doesn't work stand alone or with other hardware but above all, it's a gimmick."

I use remote play from my PS5 to PS4 regularly. Works well here. Played through Horizon games using it when I couldn't use the TV that the PS5 is connected to. It's not so great with FPS but most other genres are work well. I'm using Lan cables as wifi is always rubbish for 'almost' everything.
How many Syphon Filter games are there? It feels like the series has had some kind of launch/addition given to it on PS+ Premium every month of Premium's existence.
